Samuels is the heartbeat of the Denver East team not only when it comes to scoring but just as an overall leader. This is the main reason that the Angels finished the month of January 6-0 including a huge win over Mountain Vista. In this game against a Top 5 team, D'Aundre had 29 points, 9 rebounds, 5 steals, and 8 assists. Playoffs are beginning and it is asking for him to show up in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='969435' first='Nathaniel' last='Owen'] is the senior leader for Bellview Christian. This is a team that was 8-0 in January and 19-0 overall this season. Owen has been around long enough to know how holding up the trophy at the end of the season feels as he was on the championship team. Now with all of eyes on him, Owens is determined at end his senior year on top and have that championship feeling once again.

[player_tooltip player_id='1318391' first='Maximus' last='Matthews'] is name that was flown under the radar for much of the year -- until now. In his first year of high school basketball, he has been impressive. He has had multiple games with 25 points and 15 rebounds and shows no signs of slowing down. Maximus's Gateway team went 5-3 in January but was able to keep ahold of the No.1 spot heading into the conference tournament. Now he is looking to turn heads for the state playoff run and has a tall task.

[player_tooltip player_id='1463544' first='Justus' last='Michael'] is a lot to handle on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he isn't scared of anybody and takes pride in not being scored on. Offensively, he is calm and plays at his own pace. On the season he is averaging 19 points and 3 rebounds on 61% shooting. A month in which Northfield finished 6-1 and want to keep up that momentum in the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='965779' first='Armon' last='Baker'] is a quick and crafty guard that keeps defenses guessing. With him running the point for Thomas Jefferson they are able to speed up the pace and make teams play their way. The Spartans finished the month at 5-3 and had a good showing against Denver East. Armon has the ability to get downhill at will and finish at the rim as well knock down the open 3 when teams lay back into a zone. It will be on him to continue that momentum as TJ looks to make a push in the state playoffs.
