Kai Rogers Kai Rogers 6'10" | C Wauwatosa West | 2025 State #41 Nation WI — C — Wauwatosa West
You don’t see many prospects like Rogers at the high school level. The 6-foot-10 center is capable of taking over games. In Wauwatosa West’s win over Germantown, I was impressed by the center’s defense and passing skills. He blocked many shots on the defensive end of the court. There aren’t many players that can successfully challenge Rogers at the rim. On offense, Rogers displayed his high basketball-IQ. With Germantown sending multiple defenders his way, Rogers used his court vision to make the right pass. Rogers truly is the full package. He has the potential to develop into a star at the next level.
Tyler Boesel Tyler Boesel 6'5" | SF Wauwatosa West | 2024 State WI — G — Wauwatosa West
Even though Boesel doesn’t put up huge numbers, I believe that he is critical to Wauwatosa West’s success. The guard plays tough defense and brings a lot of energy. He is also opportunistic as a scorer. Boesel makes smart cuts and has no issue finishing tough layups. He won’t grab most of the headlines, but Boesel proved on Friday that he very important to his team’s success.
Will Van Fossen — F — Germantown
Van Fossen has had a good season thus far for Germantown. This continued on Friday. The forward made some outside shots and finished some layups in the paint. Van Fossen (Germantown’s leading scorer this season) is most certainly a sleeper in the 2023 class. He may not do anything that jumps off the board, but I can assure you that Van Fossen is a great player.
Jake Hansen Jake Hansen 6'1" | SG Wauwatosa West | 2025 State #331 Nation WI — SG — Wauwatosa West
Hansen got off to a bit of a slow start. He misfired on a couple of three-point shots early. The shooting guard didn’t let this shake his confidence, though. He continued to let it fly from deep. Eventually, Hansen caught fire and drained a couple of shots from distance. I really like what Hansen is able to do on offense. He is a great overall scorer and smart passer. It shouldn’t be too long before college coaches start showing interest in Hansen.
Peyton McKenna Peyton McKenna 6'2" | PG Germantown | 2024 State WI — SG — Germantown
McKenna’s incredible effort was almost enough for Germantown to walk away with a win. In the second half, McKenna knocked down some timely threes. When McKenna sees a couple of shots fall, his confidence grows quickly. The 2024 shooting guard has played well this season for Germantown. I am looking forward to watching him play this AAU season. Mckenna finished with 17 points in the loss.
Owen Smith Owen Smith 6'8" | PF Wauwatosa West | 2023 WI — F — Wauwatosa West
When March rolls around, Smith is a name to keep an eye on. The forward stands at 6-foot-8 and can step outside and space the floor. I thought that Smith played well in his team’s win. He knocked down a couple of threes and played hard in his minutes. Because of his size, Smith’s presence is also important on defense. He can protect the rim and clean up the glass.
