Ron Holland Ron Holland 6'9" | PF Duncanville | 2023 State #7 Nation TX – Class of 2023 6’8 Duncanville High School
This year, the #1 player in the state of Texas displayed why he is committed to Texas. His game is smooth like a freshly shaved head, cool like the other side of the pillow, and he plays with a burning passion for victory. Holland plants himself in the passing lane taking away one of the ball-handlers passing options. The athleticism he possesses in the air makes the crowd drop their jaws. When he gets going downhill expect something spectacular to happen. Talking trash toward him makes it harder for his opponents, he embraces all the, “Overrated” chants some fans make. He brings an infectious positive energy, not only to his team but fans as well. His quick step and the length of his arms make him hard to guard at the perimeter.
Davin Cross Davin Cross TX – Class of 2025 6’3 Summer Creek High School
Cross was impressed with his motor skills on the court and interior presence. The sophomore put his hands on almost every rebound defensively and helps give his team second chance. He played his role to his full potential against the Bruins; coming up with timely put-backs. When he had the advantage over his defender then he looked to score but didn’t try to do something, not in his game. Cross was the anchor in the paint for the Bulldogs. He surely displayed his ability to impact the game defensively.
Jaylin Jones – Class of 2024 6’5 Beaumont Westbrook
Jones is a dual sport athlete playing probably the best position for an outside linebacker in the power forward position. Started with a monster jam over in the opening quarter. Overall, he brings toughness, grit, and grind to the Bruins front court. Take pride in winning his matchup every play. The type of player to put his body on the line. The three-star linebacker embraces the physicality of the game. He kept the Bruins in the game making and-1 layups or getting to the foul line. Lead his team in field goal percentage.
Jaxson Davis – Class of 2023 6’6 Desoto High School
Davis finished with a team-high of 15 points against the loss to Duncanville, but he might’ve had the most memorable play in the closing seconds of the game. Under 30 seconds he puts a defender in the rim for his 15th point of the night. The strength he obtains allow him to overpower taller defenders driving to the rim. Play with no fear steadily attacking the rim against Duncanville rim protection. Although he is a physical player, his touch is soft finishing around the rim. Using his body to move players in the air.
