Reidsville Rams (14-0)
The Reidsville Rams are currently unbeaten on the season with freshman duo Dionte Neal Dionte Neal 5'10" | PG Reidsville | 2026 State NC and Kendre Harrison Kendre Harrison 6'8" | C Reidsville | 2026 State NC leading the charge for them. Neal is a true two-way floor general already in NC’s freshman class, posting 21.1 ppg, 11.8 apg, 6.1 spg and 4.6 rpg as a top name to know in their backcourt. In the frontcourt, Harrison leads the charge with 22.6 ppg, 14.1 rpg and 3.4 bpg. He’s a 6-foot-7 big man that knows how to impose his will on the floor. Seniors Amari Baggett and Jerrel Wilson are a few of the complementary names around them to know. Baggett is posting 9.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.9 apg and 2.8 spg while Wilson is producing 7.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg and 1.4 spg in their rotation. They’re a talented bunch that’s currently unbeaten in the 2A West heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.
North Surry Greyhounds (19-1)
James McCreary James McCreary 6'1" | SG North Surry | 2023 State NC and Jahreece Lynch Jahreece Lynch 6'2" | CG North Surry | 2023 State NC are a dynamic duo both producing 20+ points per game for the North Surry Greyhounds as they look to make another deep run in the NCHSAA 2A State Playoffs. Mccreary is producing 20.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.4 apg and 2.3 spg while Lynch is posting 22.4 ppg, 5.6 apg, 5.6 rpg and 3.0 spg at the lead guard spot in the backcourt. Senior guard Kolby Watson and sophomore Kam McKnight are two other players that are contributing to the North Surry High success. Watson is a 5-foot-11 guard averaging 13.8 ppg and 3.3 apg. McKnight is a 6-foot sophomore guard averaging 7.8 ppg and 3.1 apg as they’re currently 9-0 in conference action.
West Caldwell Warriors (17-2)
Malek Patterson Malek Patterson 6'3" | SF West Caldwell | 2023 State NC has some help this season in sophomores Jordan Patterson Jordan Patterson 6'3" | CG West Caldwell | 2025 State NC and Zion Thomas Zion Thomas 5'6" | PG West Caldwell | 2025 State NC in the West Caldwell Warriors rotation. Malek Patterson Malek Patterson 6'3" | SF West Caldwell | 2023 State NC leads the charge, producing 20.2 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 3.1 apg and 1.9 spg at the lead guard spot. Jordan Patterson Jordan Patterson 6'3" | CG West Caldwell | 2025 State NC is right behind him with 16.4 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.2 apg and 2.4 spg. He’s a 6-foot-1 guard that’s worked his way onto the PrepHoops radar with his play in 2022-23. Thomas is the other prospect to work his way onto the PH radar as he’s posted 11.1 ppg and 2.9 apg in the backcourt alongside the Patterson duo. They’re currently unbeaten in conference action at 10-0.
East Gaston Warriors (16-2)
East Gaston High has emerged as a surprise squad in the 2A West with a 16-2 record and 7-1 in conference play. McCaskill Rivers McCaskill Rivers 6'4" | SF East Gaston | 2023 State NC is an unsigned sharpshooter putting in work on the boards and scoring front, averaging 20.8 ppg, 10.6 rpg and 2.8 apg. He’s a mobile 6-foot-4 wing that’s shown he can do a little bit of everything for the Warriors success. Trent Sherrill Trent Sherrill 6'4" | SF East Gaston | 2024 State NC has been another name to watch in the 2024 class, averaging 16.4 ppg, 7.2 rpg and 4.1 apg as another versatile 6-foot-4 presence in their rotation. He’s a prospect that plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor and makes plays. Unsigned senior wing Connor Rankin Connor Rankin 6'4" | SF East Gaston | 2023 State NC is another presence at 6-foot-4 that’s been a burden on the boards, leading the way with 10.3 rpg to go along with 12.9 ppg. They’re an experienced and talented squad to watch, that’s for sure.
Salisbury Hornets (14-5)
They’re probably the biggest sleeper out of the 2A West but when 2024 sharpshooter Jayden Harris Jayden Harris 6'6" | SG Salisbury | 2024 State #220 Nation NC gets going, he’s hard to stop. He’s a top name to know in the state of North Carolina this season as the Salisbury Hornets are currently 8-1 in conference action. He’s coming off a 29-point, 6-rebound performance in the Hornets most recent victory over South Davidson.
