Today I am dropping a few players who are making huge impacts for their teams under the radar. Here are a few of those under-the-radar prospects…
Gabriel Lee White (6’1/CG/’23/Tuscaloosa County HS)

Gabriel is on a team that is surprising a lot of teams in class 7a, and he has a lot to do with the success of TCHS. He has a good feel for the game and plays at a nice pace. He is a reliable orchestrator that distributes the ball well and can knock down open shot opportunities when they present themselves. Gabriel functions as a triple-threat player that contributes as a shooter, passer, and driver. He makes good decisions with the ball in his hands, and his impact on the game is felt way beyond the scoring column. His experience is going to be critical as he leads his squad to what they are hoping is a deep playoff run.

Keown Richardson (6’0/CG/’24/Vestavia Hills HS)
I have seen Keown several times this year, and he has been a steady force for the Rebels at the lead guard spot. He has been a reliable ball-handler and has been a trustworthy floor general. He does an excellent job running the Rebels’ system and getting the ball into the hands of their scorers. He is the offensive initiator on a hungry team who has been climbing the rankings in class 7A. As long as Keown can hold down the lead guard spot and keep the Rebels’ offense fluid, look for the Rebels to make a deep playoff run.

John Walker John Walker 6'5" | PF Northridge | 2024 AL (6’4/PF/’24/Northridge HS)

John is an undersized post that showed his offensive and defensive versatility. He stretches the floor and pulls out opponents’ bigs from under the basket with his ability to handle out on the perimeter as well as shoot the trey ball. He can play in the manner he does right now because there are not many high schools that just have size in the paint. He is a relentless competitor that embraces physical play. He is a major contributor for his squad, and his senior leadership can be seen in his interactions with his teammates on and off the floor.

Corri Milliner (6’2/CG/’23/Benjamin Russell HS)

Corri is a tough iso scorer with length. He is efficient with his movement and doesn’t use many dribbles to get to his spots. He is one of the best that I have seen lately when it comes to the middle game. His ability to rise and pop off of two dribbles is very impressive. He is an athletic guard that is a high riser and finishes well at and above the rim. He is difficult to contain off the bounce and converts at a high rate in the paint. He has physical measurables and a scoring package that makes him an interesting prospect in the 2023 class.

Elijah Thomas (6’0/CG/’24/Hoover HS)
Elijah is a guard who brings a lot to the floor at both the lead-guard and off-guard spot. Playing behind the potent starting backcourt at Hoover often allows Elijah to play under the radar and off the scouting report, which leaves him able to operate outside of gameplans developed to stop their starting backcourt. He does a good job getting buckets in transitions and penetrating the lane to either finish or kick it out to an open shooter on the perimeter. He brings a lot of energy to the floor, and even though he isn’t a primary scoring option, he executes his role well and plays within himself. Staying true to his role on the team will definitely be helpful down the stretch.

Frederic Canon Armstead (6’2/SG/’23/Homewood HS)

Frederic has been added to the list of the most lethal shooters I have seen this year. He is an exciting player to watch as he plays both ends of the floor with a lot of energy. He is a vocal leader for the Patriots and a big piece to the Patriots’ hopes and success of a playoff run. He plays with creative ball handlers who know how to set the table for him when he is locked and loaded in the corner. He is definitely the alpha male on his squad, and he leads by example. Frederic does not need the ball in his hands to be productive, as when you look at his stat line for the season, you see that he fills up the stat sheet across the categories.
Thomas Itsede (SG/’23/Hartselle HS)
On an all-around solid team, Thomas fits in perfectly. He is an athletic guard that is explosive off the bounce. He is a steady offensive presence and can score the rock, which provides his squad with an additional scorer, which is vital when coaches gameplan to slow down Kiah Key Kiah Key 5'9" | PG Hartselle | 2023 State AL . On a team that plays unselfishly and plays for one another, Thomas is a willing defender and is an aggressive on-ball defender. He has active hands and often gets deflections as he plays passing lanes. He gives ultimate effort and impacts winning through his competitive play, toughness, and aggressiveness on both ends of the floor.
