The full day of action featured matchups between many of Southern California’s top teams, including an epic triple overtime game between Harvard-Westlake and Bishop Montgomery. We were in attendance for each game and we take a closer look at the underclassmen – freshmen and sophomores – who emerged on the big stage.
Braeden Davidson, 2026, Crean Lutheran
Davidson continues to make his mark as one of Orange County’s top young shooters. The 6-foot-2 guard finished with 15 points – five three-pointers – as Crean Lutheran picked up a solid win over St. Francis. Aside from his shooting ability, what stood out most about Davidson was his poise in late-game situations.
Domonique Bentho, 2026, Harvard-Westlake
Bentho is getting spot minutes behind Princeton-bound forward Jacob Huggins Jacob Huggins 6'7" | PF Harvard-Westlake | 2023 State #281 Nation CA-S but he has already shown some flashes of the potential he has. At 6-feet-8 with a big, strong frame that can be worked with, the freshman power forward/center has some of the tools you can’t teach young big men: soft hands, touch and great footwork around the basket.
Hudson Mayes Hudson Mayes 6'2" | PG Redondo Union | 2025 State #294 Nation CA-S , 2025, Redondo Union
Mayes is starting to come into his own as a big time scorer who can do so in a variety of ways. The 6-foot-3 sophomore who transferred to Redondo from Fairfax has great size for his position and a well-bult frame that can be built on even more. Mayes scored 16 points in the Sea Hawks win over Narbonne and made his mark as as driver and finisher and pull-up jump shooter.
JoJo Wicker, 2026, St. Anthony
Wicker is an intriguing prospect due to his all-around feel for the game at such an early point in his development. The 6-foot guard has the ball skills and IQ to initiate offense, the shooting and driving ability to play off the ball and has shown poise during crucial time and score moments for the Saints.
SJ Madison, 2026, Redondo Union
Madison is one of the more physically and athletically gifted prospects in SoCal’s 2026 class. The 6-foot-3 wing is both strong and explosive, skilled and physical, and plays with a smoothness to his offensive game that highlights his natural scorers mindset. The Redondo freshman scored 15 points in the Sea Hawks win over Narbonne.
