BELLFLOWER — The annual St. John Bosco Martin Luther King, Jr. Dream Classic featured 10 games on Monday – comprised mainly of teams from Orange and Los Angeles Counties. In this piece we look at the best scorers from the event.

Brandon McCoy, St. John Bosco

The class of 2026 is a talented and versatile scoring wing. At 6-feet-4 with ideal size, length and athletic tools for a young prospect, McCoy leverages those traits into being a transition slasher and finisher, a consistent shooter off the catch from three-point range and a player who can create shots for himself and others off the dribble. McCoy finished with 17 points off the bench in Bosco's win over Vanden.

[player_tooltip player_id='992482' first='Darius' last='Carr'], Fairfax

Carr put up a game-high 27 points as Fairfax picked up a win over Diamond Bar and his scoring prowess was shown in a variety of ways. The 6-foot-4 New Mexico State-commit had a number of explosive transition dunks, got by defenders off the dribble and into the lane where he finished through and over contact and pulled up for smooth mid-range jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1689254' first='Drew' last='Bowman'], St. Margaret's

We got our first look at Bowman in St. Margaret's (controversial) win over Leuzinger and we were pleasantly surprised with his well-rounded game. The 6-foot-3 guard knocked down open three's off drive and kicks, attacked bad closeouts and got into the lane for paint finishes and showed the ability to come off screens and make plays. Bowman finished with 27 points for the Tartans.

[player_tooltip player_id='1434812' first='Efe' last='Gucoglu'], Capistrano Valley

As we mentioned in our rapid reaction story yesterday, Gucoglu is one of the best pure three-point shooters we have in the region and he's taken his all-around scoring game up a notch with his ability to knock down jumpers off the bounce. The Capo Valley senior scored 23 points in the Cougars loss to Dominguez.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630620' first='Elzie' last='Harrington'], St. John Bosco

Harrington was engaged from start-to-finish and it resulted in him having an impressive all-around game and one of the better scoring games we've seen from him since he entered high school. The 6-foot-5 sophomore was efficient from the field, scored at the basket with craft and athleticism and looked confident stepping into open jumpers. Harrington finished with 21 points in the Braves' win over Vanden.

Jason Crowe, Jr., Lynwood

We noted in our five takeaways piece earlier today that Crowe, Jr. was double-teamed and face-guarded throughout the game but still managed to put up 36 points on 9-for-17 from the field and 17-for-19 from the free throw line. What a real scorer does is try to find ways to get to their spots and take advantage of the small windows of opportunity that the defense allows and the talented freshman did just that in the 96-88 loss to Pacifica Christian.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630683' first='Julien' last='Gomez'], La Mirada

When someone asks me to describe Gomez's game, and I've had quite a few of these questions, the first couple of things that come to mind are: crafty, old school game, and shot-maker. The 6-foot-3 lefty isn't the quickest, fastest or most athletic player on the floor most of the time, but he often is the most fundamental, best at creating space from defenders with footwork and highest IQ shot selector on the floor. Gomez finished with a game-high 30 points in the Matadores' 53-50 win over Foothill and scored 19 of those 30 in the second half.
