Springville has been really surprising but they’re good. Riverton is another team that we had around 2nd or 3rd but they have been playing well.
Region 1
Layton
Solid starting 5 with size and shooting. The difference maker could be Brock Mendoza Brock Mendoza 6'9" | C Layton | 2023 State UT and Mekhi Martin Mekhi Martin 6'2" | PG Layton | 2024 State UT .
Davis and Farmington really pose a threat and anything can happen in this region. Do not be surprised if Weber beats one of these teams either.
Region 2
Cyprus
Cyprus should go untouched. Quentin Meza Quentin Meza 6'0" | PG Cyprus | 2023 State UT is playing for a lot of things and not just the 6A Championship.
Although Kearns can likely be the 2nd best team there is a large separation between 1st and 2nd.
Region 3
Coin Flip: Riverton, Herriman, Copper Hills and Bingham
There could be a multi-team tie in this region. Each one of these teams has some players that could really go off.
Region 4
American Fork
They will get tested by Corner Canyon but their size and guard poise could be too much.
Corner Canyon and Pleasant Grove have a shot. Anything can happen.
Region 5
Woods Cross
Mason Bendinger Mason Bendinger 6'3" | CG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT and Jaxon Smith Jaxon Smith 6'1" | PG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT might capture another region title.
Bountiful is a sneaky good team especially if they shoot the ball well.
Region 6
Olympus
Olumpus looks untouchable in region play.
If Skyline can make 15+ three-pointers they have a shot against Olympus.
Region 7
Cottonwood
Cottonwood got a huge road win that could continue to build their confidence. Chris Cox Chris Cox 6'7" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ is really good.
Cedar Valley is good and they will regroup and try and meet against with Cottonwood for Round 2.
Region 8
Alta
Probably the toughest region in the state. Lehi and Timpview can figure things out.
Lehi shoots the ball well and Timpview has size to match Alta there will be some battles in this region.
Region 9
Springville
Turns out that Springville is a true 5A contender. Excited to see their young pieces continue to grow.
Payson has some shooting and speed and they are usually well coached. Keep an eye on them.
