Continue ReadingCounty tournaments are here as teams are looking to take home county supremacy honors. Passaic County kicks off its tournament today and it will be an entertaining one to follow. Reigning champion Paterson Charter looks to reclaim its title as the two seed, while top seed Paterson Eastside looks to take home the title. Here are the Passaic County Tournament players to watch.
Bryce Stokes Bryce Stokes 6'3" | SG Paterson Eastside | 2023 State NJ , 6’3 SG Paterson Eastside 2023
Stokes has been on a tear lately for the Ghosts as he is averaging over 27 points per game over his last three. The 6’3 guard uses his handle effectively as he is able to get into the paint and finish around the rim. Stokes knows how to get to his spot on the floor and rises up with confidence on his jumper. He is a solid passer and gets deflections on the defensive end. Stokes has the ability to put up points in bunches, which will be key for Paterson Eastside’s run in the county tournament.
Adrian Mouzone Adrian Mouzone 5'11" | PG Paterson Charter | 2023 State NJ , 6’0 PG Paterson Charter 2023
Mouzone is the only player on the Lions’ roster who played in last season’s Passaic County Tournament final and his experience will be vital for them. The 6’0 guard has a good handle, which he uses to get by his defender and finish at the basket. Mouzone can also score in the mid-range and does not mind contact. He gets his teammates involved in the half court and plays tough on-ball defense. Mouzone will be one to watch in the Passaic County Tournament for Paterson Charter as the Lions look to repeat.
Saif Al-Deen Saleh Saif Al-Deen Saleh 6'8" | C Clifton | 2024 State NJ , 6’7 C Clifton 2024
Al-Deen Saleh has been the go-to guy down low for the Mustangs as he has been a double-double machine for them. The 6’7 post player has a good touch around the basket and knows how to get position down low. Al-Deen Saleh dives to the basket hard after screens and is capable of hitting open jumpers on the perimeter. He snags rebounds on both ends of the court and uses his length to influence shots on the defensive end. Al-Deen Saleh’s ability to control the paint is something that has been key to his and Clifton’s success this season.
Jordan Ghee Jordan Ghee 6'3" | SG Don Bosco Prep | 2025 State NJ , 6’4 CG DePaul Catholic 2025
Ghee has stepped up in a big way for the Spartans as he taken over more of the ball-handling responsibilities. The 6’4 guard uses his size to see over his defender and is able to get into the paint consistently. Ghee is a good finisher around the basket and has a nice release on his jumper. He works hard on the defensive end and is an underrated passer. Ghee’s ability to make plays with the ball in his hands is something that has helped his stock this season as DePaul Catholic looks to make a deep run in the county tournament.
Ayden Brown, 6’0 G Passaic Tech 2023
Brown is the Bulldogs’ top scorer this season and has come up big in big games this season. The 6’0 guard has a good shooting stroke and can get hot from distance in a hurry as he knocked down six in a game this season. Brown is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. He is a solid rebounder and moves his feet on the defensive end. Brown has three 20-point games already this season and should have more during the Passaic County Tournament.
