On Friday I went to see one of the hottest teams in Toledo in Central Catholic play against a tough and fast-playing Lima Senior but CCHS continued their success by picking up the huge 67-61 win in the TRAC. Then on Saturday night, I made my way to Ottawa-Glandorf as I watched them play a big out-of-conference game against Findlay and OGHS win that one 62-48. This article will cover the top wings/forwards from these games.
House is a nice player that has some next-level talent and tools. He is a 6’6 wing with a very large wingspan and that moves well. He is also the Panthers’ tallest player so he has to play inside and he does it well. He is aggressive in attacking the glass for rebounds. Finished the ball well around the rim but he also can make moves from beyond the arc like a guard and in the second half he showed that. He had a couple of nice dribble pull-ups above defenders. He knocked down a pair of threes. His jumper looks good. I do wish when West goes out of the game and House is the Panthers’ only true scoring threat he was more aggressive.
Maag was the go-to guy scoring-wise for Ottawa-Glandorf in their games abasing Findlay on Saturday because he was the most consistent. He is a relentless finisher around the rim. He did do it all with his right hand so I left the gym questioning if he could finish with his left but when they can’t stop your right why change it? His motor is great. He battled in the post for position all night long. He is a strong kid. He was crucial for the Titans to keep them in the game while Colin White Colin White 6’5″ | SG Ottawa Glandorf | 2024 State #156 Nation OH didn’t get going until late in the game.
Will Cordonnier
Will Cordonnier
Cordonnier was the player that impressed me the most this week. He played very well on Saturday both inside and out. He is a tall and very long stretch forward that moves very well. He shot the ball very well and lead Findlay in scoring with 17 points. He hit a couple of hook shots over the right shoulder. He had some good passes out of the post once he was in bad positions. Played with passion and tons of effort. He played big in the 4th quarter as well. Someone, I am definitely going to keep an eye on.
