Impactful Role Players

These players are key to helping their teams win by doing the intangibles that may or may not show up on the stat sheet.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1622362' first='Cole' last='Holloway'] - Dakota Ridge</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1622362' first='Cole' last='Holloway'] is a 6'3 bulky forward who uses his frame to be one of the best undersized rebounders in the state. Cole does a good job playing within his game and not forcing up many bad shots. He is an aggressive player who makes his presence known on the floor by banging down low. Near the basket, he has a good set of simple post moves and fakes that allow him to get his shot up. Cole has been a big piece for Dakota Ridge who is looking set for a deep run in 5A.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1284469' first='Finn' last='Horsfall'] - Air Academy</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1284469' first='Finn' last='Horsfall'] is a player who stands out with his vocal leadership on the floor. Finn has been a good off-ball option who has been able to catch and shoot from outside at a solid rate. He plays hard on the defensive end and is always standing and cheering if he is on the bench. Finn is the glue for this team who sets the tempo from the tip off. Finn puts in work all across the board making a versatile big guard. He has been a standout leader on one of the most stacked teams in 5A.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1441491' first='Jack' last='Bakken'] - Highlands Ranch</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1441491' first='Jack' last='Bakken'] has been running the point guard for Highlands Ranch who have started off the season 9-2. Jack has good size for a guard allowing him to switchable on the defensive end and bang down low for rebounds. He is a pass first guard who looks to set up teammates for scoring opportunities. Jack is a balanced guard who makes winning plays for his team. I will be interested to see how Jack and Highlands Ranch play in the Continental League as they just lost a nail biter to highly ranked Rock Canyon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1577997' first='Harry' last='Singh'] - Frederick</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1577997' first='Harry' last='Singh'] is a quick combo guard who can play on or off of the ball. Harry has great instincts on the defensive end and active allowing him to to lead his team in steals with over 3 a game. He often takes on opposing teams top guards on the defensive end doing a solid job slowing them down. Harry is a respectable spot up shooter and does a great job running on fastbreaks to find the open spots on the floor. He has been a very good secondary scorer in the backcourt on one of the top teams in 5A.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Brendan Diehl - Mountain Vista</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brendan Diehl is a high-energy shooting guard who sets the tone for the highly-ranked Mountain Vista squad. Brendan, it seems every game has at least one steal where he jumps a passing lane to start a fastbreak, and often he is the first one down the floor to finish with a layup. He is a good cutter without the ball in his hands allowing him to find gaps in the defense for easy scoring opportunities. The Doane University commit is a hustle player who dives on the floor and makes all the hustle plays for his team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
