During the holiday season PHI covered tournaments all across the state. I personally took in 42 games from York, Hinsdale Central, Pekin, Collinsville, Kankakee, State Farm, and Centralia. Wanted to examine some of the best emerging prospects I saw including here in Holiday Tournaments: 2024 New Names!

Braden Richardson (York – 2024)

Undersized four man proved to be a quality small college prospect with his physicality inside using his body positioning to score. Nice hook shot.

Gus Rugaard (Morton – 2024)

Rugaard is a plus shot maker from distance as the 6'0” point guard hit four of them in a 16 point first round win.

Ryan Starck (Rockford Boylan – 2024)

The 5'11” point guard from Boylan opened eyes with his shooting from distance along with grit that he brings to the table.

Aedon Campos (Rockford Boylan – 2024)

Good sized two guard that has a clean stroke hitting five triples in a 19 point outing against Normal West. One to track for sure.

Nick Popovic (Lake Zurich – 2024)

Popovic caught our attention in the fall and really made a name with his play vs Lanphier. The 6'3” shooting guard sliced and diced off the bounce for multiple and-1s while also hitting a couple of bombs for 15 points.

Nathaniel Moore (Normal West – 2024)

Moore is a scoring guard at 6'0” that was effective both getting buckets in transition as well as shooting off the catch while scoring 29 points.

CJ Wilson (Normal West – 2024)

Long and lanky 6'5” four man that presents athleticism up front along with being an excellent rebounder. Moves well defensively and finishes out of the dunker spot.

Ernest Davenport (Madison – 2024)

Davenport caught our attention as a 6'7” rim protector with excellent timing and anticipation on that end of the floor. Offensively he is a project, but one worth tracking!

Mario Brown (Granite City – 2024)

Brown was impressive as a 6'3” two guard that can score from all over the floor. Rangy prospect that can put it on the deck with a smooth handle and score at the rim with either hand or floaters.

Trevon Boyd (Granite City – 2024)

Smaller scoring lead guard at 5'9” that is a quality shooter especially spotting up. Microwave type scorer!

Ki'on Carson (Lincoln – 2024)

Super small lead guard at 5'6” that plays with a ton of tenacity and speed. Pushed in transition over and over scoring with acrobatic layups.

[player_tooltip player_id='1374272' first='David' last='Marshall Jr'] (Belleville West – 2024)

The 6'3” shooting guard caught our attention with a nice early morning performance on the final day at Centralia. Good athlete that crashed the offensive glass, can hit an open spot up shot, and plays solid defense.
