1.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='1167715' first='Casey' last='Gardner'] (Dunkerton) - 10.8 assists per game

There are some shades of former North Linn point guard Jake Hilmer in Gardner's game - he's a true pass-first guard with outstanding court vision and creative passing instincts and skills. He loves to push the tempo and get his teammates involved first and foremost, but he has also shown that he can really fill it up, dropping a state-high 46 points in a game earlier this season.

2.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='1367441' first='Max' last='Hough'] (GTRA) - 9.3

Speaking of pass-first guards, check out Hough, who is actually averaging more assists than points (8.7) this season. The Titans have a trio of strong scoring threats alongside Hough, so he is perfectly content getting them involved, and he has done a tremendous job protecting the ball, posting a nearly 5.5-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.

3.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='1167740' first='Carson' last='Fuegen'] (Easton Valley) - 8.6

A diminutive 5-9 point guard who puts pressure on the opposition on both ends of the floor routinely, Fuegen is averaging 12.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 4.4 steals a game in addition to his passing. He's cat-quick and is able to get into the teeth of the defense routinely to either score or facilitate for his teammates.

4.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='1367400' first='Josh' last='Sanderson'] (Grand View Christian) - 8.4

Sanderson burst onto the scene last year, dishing out handfuls of assists alongside a pair of talented perimeter scorers for the Thunder. This season he's stepped into a bigger scoring role, averaging 16.0 points a game, but he's still getting others involved at a high clip while doing a good job protecting the ball.

5.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='956889' first='Max' last='Burt'] (Newman Catholic) - 8.0

A 6-0 point guard who has committed to play college baseball at Iowa, Burt is a pass-first guard who loves to get his teammates involved. He sees the floor really well and is a creative passer who can fit the ball into tight spaces. He has taken his scoring up a lot this year, averaging 16.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.1 steals with 60-52-78 shooting splits.

6.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='1167671' first='William' last='Kiburis'] (Gladbrook-Reinbeck) - 6.3

A 6-4 lead guard who uses his size to his advantage as both a perimeter scoring threat and a passer, Kiburis puts up video game numbers routinely for the Rebels on both ends of the floor. He has a great feel for the game, and makes up for his lack of an elite first step by playing with great pace and changing speeds well to help get by defenders.

7.) 2023 Keaton Logan (Gehlen Catholic) - 6.0

A 6-0 point guard who stirs the drink for a Jays team filled with scoring threats, Logan has posted a nearly 4-1 assist-to-turnover ratio this season. He's a quick guard who can get to the rim and he makes his teammates better.

8.) 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='2397192' first='Adam' last='Sobczak'] (Holy Trinity) - 5.8

Sobczak is another guard who dishes out more assists than he scores (5.2 points). A quick 5-9 guard who keeps the ball moving, he's a good athlete with great court vision who has really improved his ball protection as a sophomore.

9.) 2023 Cody Damman (Baxter) - 5.8

Damman pairs with [player_tooltip player_id='1240107' first='Carson' last='Scroggins'] to give the Bolts a dynamic one-two punch. He's a talented guard who protects the ball incredibly well (nearly 5-1 assist-to-turnover ratio) and is a key piece for a Baxter team that he been incredibly explosive offensively, averaging 79 points a game.

10.) 2024 Tyke Remster (Saint Ansgar) - 5.7

The 5-7 Remster isn't much of a scoring threat (4.0 points a game), rather looking to get his teammates involved. He sees the floor well and is a solid ball-handler.
