Jamai had an impressive showing on day two, as he is a player that can produce at both the lead guard and the off-guard spot. He scores at all three levels and has deep range from behind the arc. He has end-to-end speed and is constantly putting pressure on the rim. He has a mature game and does a lot that contributes to winning. He impacts the stat sheet in numerous ways beyond the scoring column, as his imprint on the game is felt on both ends of the floor and on the glass. He finished with 22pts in the match-up against Coral Springs. He is a creator off the bounce and showed his scoring prowess as well as his capacity to run the show.

Jaheim Gouldbourne (6’3/G|F/’24/Coral Springs HS)

When it comes to energy players, look no further than Jaheim. His level of energy and effort was unmatched. He is an athletic high-rising athlete whose athleticism often gave him the advantage in his one-on-one match-ups. Most of the time, he just outworked his opponent, especially on the boards. He was a monster on the boards, and even though stats were not being kept, I am sure he had double-digit rebounds. He often started the break by rebounding and pushing the rock up the court in a hurry, which resulted in transition buckets and set up for early offense and quick hitters. Jaheim also showed a nice middle game and the ability to get to his spots off the bounce and elevate over his defender to get his shot off.

Jaylen is a slasher with a quick first step and found himself with two feet in the paint, breaking down the defense often. He finishes well in the paint, and when he is not getting his own, he is kicking out to open teammates. He is a young ferocious playmaker that produces at a high level. He is listed as a PG, but he is the epitome of a do-it-all type PG. He orchestrates, scores, distributes the rock and keeps his squad in rhythm. JB knows how to use his physical build to drive, rebound, and defend. He brings consistent and efficient isolation offense to the floor. Defensively, he is a solid defender who can move his feet on the perimeter and is strong enough to deal with bigger guards on the block.

I have put ink on Myles before, and when I saw him playing varsity basketball, I was beyond excited for him. I have followed him and his brother for several years and know the work they put in, in the lab. He is explosive and athletic and showed it on day two. He has scoring ability coupled with exceptional passing ability. Myles is a reliable floor general that brings scoring efficiency to Riviera’s PG spot and gives RP a trustworthy PG over the next several years. His potential and promise are off the charts, and his overall trending game is positive news for RP. I have spent two days watching talent at the classic, and there isn’t another 8th grader that I have seen that is here putting in the workload that Myles is doing. He is definitely a player to stay locked in on over the next several years.

Jaheem Smith (5’8/PG/’24/Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS)

I have seen some exciting PGs the first two days but hardly any with the speed that Jaheem possesses. He is a lightning-quick guard with the ball in his hands, and his end-to-end speed is crazy. He plays like a coach on the floor and really excels at running the offense. He is a pass-first PG who does a great job in getting everyone involved, an attribute that is looked for in a PG. Jaheem creates situations where teammates get high-percentage shots. He limits his turnovers, allowing Douglas to maximize on a good number of their possessions. Jaheem is an attacker from the PG spot, and he causes problems for defenses as they have to rely on their rotation to contain Jaheem off the bounce because I did not see one defender able to stay in front of him.
Santiago Henriquez Santiago Henriquez 5'8" | PG Palmetto | 2025 State FL (5’8/PG/’25/Miami Palmetto HS)

Santiago had it going offensively as he finished with 19pts in the 72-64 win over Belen Jesuit. He is a multi-level scorer as well as a multi-dimensional lead guard. He has vision to go along with his exceptional passing abilities. He is shifty off the bounce and crafty when finishing in the paint and at the rim. He navigates pic-and-rolls well as he reads the defense and makes the right decisions with the ball in his hands. He excels at creating scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates through creative moves to the basket. He comes in a small package at 5’8, but he competes on every possession and backs down from no one.

Javi Rosell Javi Rosell 5'11" Belen Jesuit Preparatory | 2023 FL (5’11/PG/’23/Belen Jesuit)

Javi was at his best when he was attacking off the bounce. He has excellent burst and is very difficult to contain off the bounce. He is an absolute blur with the ball, that is also skilled with a good IQ. He showed his ability to score the rock while simultaneously showing that he is a trustworthy, creative, run-your-team type of guard. He wasn’t a high-volume shot taker, as he was efficient with his scoring opportunities. One thing I was impressed with when it came to Javi was his willingness to sit down and lock up on D as well as give helpside D. His senior leadership was seen in his game, his interactions with teammates, and his vocal communication on the floor.
