Jace Gilbert Jace Gilbert 6'5" | PF Arrowhead | 2024 State WI – 2024 – PF – Arrowhead
Gilbert had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. A Division 1 football prospect, Gilbert used that body and strength to dominate around the rim. Right from the opening tip, Gilbert made it known that Catholic Memorial wasn’t going to be able to check him. Gilbert also put the game away in the second half with two 3-point plays the old fashion way. While he’s a football player, Gilbert has some exceptional finesse to his game. The 6-foot-5 forward was terrific hands in traffic, nimble feet, and a soft touch around the rim. He uses that football background at the bucket as well, seeking out contact and finishing right through the chest of defenders.
Kyle Kober – 2023 – SG – Catholic Memorial
Kober was probably the biggest surprise on Thursday. Perhaps it was because the Crusaders were trailing by a large margin in the second half, but Kober definitely found something and had it going. Scoring a team-high 15 points, Kober shot the ball really well from 3-point range and knocked in some 3’s with defenders really flying at him. Kober had a couple of nice moments in transition as well and was a couple of finishes/blocks away from having a really big game. Kober is now averaging better than nine points per game behind three college prospect guards. He’s somebody that can definitely play his way into the final rankings.
Alex Kramer Alex Kramer 5'10" | PG Arrowhead | 2023 WI – 2023 – PG – Arrowhead
Certainly not the first time Arrowhead has featured a sleeper senior point guard. With Bennett Basich Bennett Basich 6'3" | SG Arrowhead | 2024 State WI (ankle) out of the lineup, Kramer gave the Warhawks a nice offensive boost, scoring 11 points. Kramer thrives in the mid-range, able to work his way into the paint and shoot off the bounce. Kramer has a quick first step and can shoot off-balance as well. Defensively, he was pretty physical and set a tone against Catholic Memorial’s stud backcourt. He had some long spurts where he was shutting people down and generating stops.
Jack Riley Jack Riley 6'0" | SF Catholic Memorial | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SF – Catholic Memorial
A player we’ve always liked due to his size, outside shooting ability, and sweet stroke, Riley had some really good moments in Thursday’s loss. The 6-foot-6 senior did a lot of damage in the pick n’ pop and pick n’ roll, getting himself open for rhythm shots. Riley finished with 10 points and five rebounds. Riley’s got some physical and skill tools that make him a very intriguing college prospect. He handles the ball a bit and can create some matchup problems. Riley is more of a swingman/wing, but he’s strong enough to defend the ‘4’ as well. Wouldn’t be surprised if his best days are still ahead of him if Riley lands at the right college program.
Mac Wrecke Mac Wrecke 6'5" | SG Arrowhead | 2023 State #272 Nation WI – 2023 – SF – Arrowhead
Wrecke just came out swinging and never let up. The UW-Green Bay commit dropped a game-high 29 points and hit five 3-pointers. Catholic Memorial did what you’re supposed to do against Wrecke — pack the paint, stay in front, and make the athletic slasher shoot. Well, Wrecke didn’t miss a whole lot, sizing up his defender and rising over the top. Wrecke was as smooth as I’ve seen, not fazed by a hand in his face and very comfortable being pushed away from the rim. He wasn’t a great shooter earlier in his career, but the 6-foot-4 wing has progressively improved year by year and is now a threat from all areas of the floor. Wrecke also grabbed eight rebounds in the win. Given his strength and football background, wouldn’t be surprised if Wrecke is an instant impact freshman for the Phoenix next season.
