Arguably one of the best guards in the state Austin is on a mission to prove it this year. He just balled out with a 40 game recently and has been making a big impact on the defensive end as well. Austin is averaging 5.8 steals a game and he is doing it consistently no matter who he is playing. Austin is a great all-around player and is no surprise that he has made this list as he is a great defender.

James is a good defender that uses his IQ to get steals. When you watch James play he is patient and directs the ball handler to where he wants him to go and then attacks. James benefits from the panthers playing a zone at times and he rotates well which puts him in good position to play the passing lane. James is averaging 4.3 steals a game and will continue to make a big impact for the panthers on defense moving forward.
Weir is a player that likes to attack on defense when the ball handler has their back turned, Weir will swoops in for the steal. On help side defense he swarms quickly, trapping while the ball handler has it low and has no time to adjust. This year Weir has been a player that is contributing in all areas but the one area that he can approve is his turnovers as he is averaging 3.3 turnovers per game and is averaging 3.4 steals per game. Besides this Weir has taken a step forward this year and should continue to progress.
Singh is a player with soft hands and you can see it the way he just plucks the ball in the passing lanes. Singh has been playing smart this year and is using his court vision when getting steals finding himself in the right position because of it and is averaging 3.3 steals per game. Singh is also keeping his turnovers down which is helping keep himself on the plus side. Most of his numbers are up from last year and will look for him to continue to play his best ball the remainder of the season.

Henderson is a player that benefits from his team swarming on the press. Henderson is good in transition defense and is able to force the offense into the trap causing some of the steals he is able to get. Henderson is a defensive focused player that is able to push in transition and get his teammates involved. Henderson is averaging 3.2 steals a game and is averaging just under 1 block a game as well.
