Andrew had a standout weekend for Dexter Southfield. He is a bit under the radar, but he is definitely a player you should know. He is proving to me he is a scholarship level player. He is a guard with good length to match his skill set set. He is a three level scorer and showed that throughout the weekend. He hit mid range shots, hit shots from the outside, and was smooth finishing at the rim. He is very strong and athletic. Andrew also has a quick first step. Andrew was able to switch on defense no problem and is able to guard multiple positions. Andrew is a player who should be on your radar.
Highlights
CJ is a big and strong post presence. He is mobile and skilled for his size. He showed his good footwork and soft touch around the rim, as scored many baskets in the paint. He is aggressive and has a variety of finishing moves around the rim. He also has good passing skills and good hands from the high and low block. CJ will be a player to watch this season on a very talented Milton Academy team.
Jaylen had a standout weekend and finished one game with 28 points. Jaylen is a versatile player, who can score the ball in multiple ways. This past weekend he hit shots from the outside, scored in the paints, and was a slasher from the perimeter, Jaylen is a high volume player, who does a lot to impact the game. I think Jaylen has the potential to be a scholarship level player. Watch out for Jaylen on a very talented ST Sebastian’s team.
Ta’quan was on fire this past weekend. He finished one game lighting it up with 39 points and 7 Three pointers made. He is a super crafty, quick guard, with a very good shot. He showed the ability to finish and get his shot off over bigger defenders. Ta’quan is very good at creating separation from the defense, and getting them to jump on fakes. He can control the pace of the game, and play at multiple speeds. Ta’Quan had one of the more impressive performance from the Prep Classic.
Pemberton had an impressive showing for ST George’s and finished one game with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Pemberton is strong going to the basket and with the ball. He made a number of strong finish through contact through out the weekend. He is a good decision maker, and knows when to pass the ball out and when to take it himself. He is a tough player who is very athletic, and shows that with some high above the rim finishes. He is also very aggressive for a guard on both the offensive and defensive rebounds. He currently holds an offer from Lehigh. Pemberton is an explosive playmaker with the tools to play at the next level.
