The Garden State basketball season is in full swing as the opening week is over. Friday has a number of intriguing match-ups with the start of the Newark Holiday Tournament coming up. Here are the under the radar players to watch this Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1471663' first='Marcel' last='Clark'], 6'4 SF American History 2023

Clark has had a strong start to the season for the Eagles and should continue it against Shabazz. The 6'4 forward has a strong frame, which he uses to get position around the basket and is a strong finisher. Clark can also put the ball on the floor and knock down shots in the mid-range. He rips down rebounds at both ends of the floor and moves his feet on the defensive end. Clark is a gritty forward prospect who should put up big numbers against Shabazz this Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1206522' first='Asan' last='Jones'], 6'3 CG Eagle Academy 2023

Eagle Academy is off to a 4-0 start and Jones has been a key part to their success. The 6'3 guard is unselfish with the ball in his hands and makes good passes in the half court. Jones has a solid handle and can finish around the basket. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and works hard on the defensive end. Jones does a little bit of everything for Eagle Academy and should have a strong game against Science Park.

[player_tooltip player_id='1401554' first='Reggie' last='Dillard'], 6'0 PG Life Center Academy 2023

Dillard has been making plays for Life Center all season long as he has a triple-double and a quadruple-double so far. The 6'0 lead guard has a good handle, which he uses to get into the lane and make plays. Dillard knows how to finish around the basket and can knock down open jumpers on the perimeter. He knows how to get his teammates involved in the half court and gets deflections on the defensive end. Dillard is a two-way guard prospect who should continue to put up big numTbers for them this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1572031' first='Trevor' last='Moncrease'], 6'5 CG Hillsborough 2024

Moncrease is an intriguing prospect to watch as he can spread the floor with his shooting ability. The 6'5 guard has a good release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Moncrease moves well without the ball in his hands and can finish around the basket. He is unselfish and has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor. Moncrease is a sharpshooting guard prospect whose stock should continue to rise with his ability to knock down triples.

[player_tooltip player_id='1456826' first='Mike' last='Amador'], 5'11 PG West Morris 2024

Amador is fresh off a 23-point performance in his last game against Pope John and is looking to continue his strong play on Friday. The 5'11 guard has a good shooting stroke as he wastes little motion in his shot and shoots the ball with confidence from distance. Amador moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself up for open jumpers and layups in the half court. He has an underrated handle and forces deflections on the defensive end. Amador's ability to hit shot from behind the arc is something that will help his stock in a big way this season.
