Lima Shawnee beat Thurgood Marshall 58-45. St Vincent St Mary’s beat Cincinnati Princeton 64-56 and the Lima Senior beat Dayton Dubar 73-71. This article will talk about the under-the-radar players from Sunday.
Allen had a super quiet 20 ball for Dunbar on Sunday. The kid just simply scores the ball. He has been doing it all season for the Wolverines. He gets a lot of second-chance points and does a lot of scoring around the rim. He isn’t the most flashy player but his fundamentals are great. He does not wow you with any part of his game but he has no weakness in his game. As solid as they come.
Majors played his tail off for the Hawks on Sunday. His team was trailing going into halftime and he decided to put the squad on his back for the 2nd half. He was phenomenal in the third quarter. He got into a great rhythm. Scored at all three levels. He has a great jab step that opens up a ton of moves for him. A super long player that allows him to shoot over a ton of defenders. He was automatic in a 1on1 situation.
Dickerson has a very unique and effective way to use his length. Most players just use it to get in passing lanes, steals, and contest jump shooters defensively and Dickerson does those very well but his way to use it to score is impressive. He uses his length to make some very tough acrobatic layups. He kind of swims through the lane. He has great euro steps and the ability to stay on his lane to the rim. He finished with 21 points and almost all of them came off of the way he used his length.
Revels was the one for the Bulldogs that had to be the go-to scorer. He showed he could be. He was knocking down a ton of shots. He was automatic off the catch-n-shoot when Vorst kicked it out to him. Revels is a thick guard that has really good size. He used this around the rim very well. He moved defenders out of the way when he drove to the basket. He has good finishing ability. Truly a very skilled basketball player.
Moore was the senior guard you want on your team. He was just consistent all game. He played incredibly hard on defense all game. He was very disciplined as well defensively. Never took unnecessary chances for steals or anything. He also used this defense to generate offense for him. He had a lot of transition points and did a good job of slashing to the basket as well.
