Let’s take a look at the must-see games today!
Harrison (WL) vs South Bend Washington – 11:00 at Warsaw
Harrison (WL) comes in at 7-0 on the season including a pair of wins over Lafayette Jeff and a Lafayette Tournament Championship during the first week of the season. The Raiders are led by their senior guard duo of Christopher Lucas and Ben Henderson Ben Henderson 6'3" | SG Harrison | 2023 State IN . Henderson is averaging 21.8 points per game on the season with Lucas averaging 10.2. The duo is also combining for 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 steals per game. South Bend Washington comes in at 7-1 on the season with road wins over LaPorte and Lake Central. Their lone loss came in their last game at John Glenn. Marcus Northern Marcus Northern 6'2" | PG South Bend Washington | 2023 State IN and Steven Reynolds lead the way for South Bend Washington with 20.0 and 14.1 points per game. Seniors Terrence Reid and Erick Nocentelli Erick Nocentelli 6'0" | PG Elkhart | 2023 State IN have each scored 11.4 points per game as well. This will be a battle between a great offense and great defense between two really good teams.
Lawrence Central vs Chesterton – 11:00 at Noblesville
Lawrence Central comes in at just 4-4 on the season, but their losses have come to some of the top teams in the state including Carmel, Zionsville, Ben Davis, and Lawrence North. The Beards are led by DaJohn Craig DaJohn Craig 6'1" | PG Lawrence Central | 2023 State IN and Joshua Mickens Joshua Mickens 6'4" | PF Lawrence Central | 2023 State IN who are the leading scorers at 18.6 and 9.1 points per game. Lawrence Central is still trying to bounce back from their unexpected loss of Kamari Jones Kamari Jones 6'4" | SG Lawrence Centra (IN) / Hilcrest Prep (AZ) | 2023 IN after two games. Chesterton sits at 5-2 following their losses to Brownsburg and Fort Wayne Blackhawk. The Trojans are led by the trio of Justin Sims Justin Sims 6'6" | PF Chesterton | 2024 State IN , Tyler Parrish Tyler Parrish 6'3" | SG Chesterton | 2024 State IN , and Owen Guest Owen Guest 6'4" | SG Chesterton | 2023 State IN . This is a game that Chesterton should win, but Lawrence Central has some firepower that could explode for a big win.
#9 Carroll (Flora) vs Tipton – 11:45 at Clinton Central
Carroll (Flora) comes in at 5-1 with their lone loss coming to Wabash in their last game. Carroll is led by their trio of seniors Owen Duff Owen Duff 6'2" | SG Carroll (Flora) | 2023 State IN and Jake Skinner Jake Skinner 6'4" | SF Carroll (Flora) | 2023 State IN as well as junior Chris Huerta Chris Huerta 5'10" | PG Carroll-Flora | 2024 IN . Tipton comes in at 7-1 with a road loss to Maconaquah. Tipton is led by junior Nolan Swan Nolan Swan 5'10" | PG Tipton | 2024 State IN and sophomore Grady Carpenter Grady Carpenter 6'5" | PG Tipton | 2025 State IN who are both averaging 17 points per game on the season. Carpenter is also 9 assists and 8 rebounds with double doubles in 7 of 8 games. Both teams have picked up wins over Lewis Cass this season as their only common opponent. This one is too close to call with both teams contending for a spot in the top-10 in our rankings, and it is going to come down to Carroll stopping Carpenter and Swan.
North Judson vs #6 Fountain Central – 3:15 at Clinton Central
North Judson comes in at 5-1 after a narrow 3-point loss to Knox last week. The Bluejays are led by their senior duo of Kelson Jordan Kelson Jordan 6'4" | SF North Judson | 2023 State IN and Ty Schumacher Ty Schumacher 6'1" | PG North Judson | 2023 IN . Fountain Central comes in at 7-0 and has risen up to #6 in the Prep Hoops 2A rankings. The Mustangs are coming off of a Bi-County Tournament Championship with wins over Seeger and Covington. Fountain Central is led by senior Mason Larkin Mason Larkin 6'9" | C Fountain Central | 2023 State IN and junior Will Harmon Will Harmon 6'1" | SG Fountain Central | 2024 State IN . The Mustangs are allowing just 31.6 points per game this season, so the key to the game for North Judson will be executing on the offensive end of the floor.
#1 Fort Wayne Blackhawk @ #2 North Daviess – 8:00
The best game of the day has to be between two of the favorites to cut down the nets at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in March. Fort Wayne Blackhawk sits at 8-0 and at #1 in 2A. They have four wins over 4A teams this season and took down 1A #1 Evansville Christian and 2A #2 Brownstown Central to get to the finals. Fort Wayne Blackhawk is led by their trio of 15 point per game scorers including seniors Gage Sefton Gage Sefton 6'4" | SG Blackhawk Christian | 2023 State IN (Grace) and Josh Furst Josh Furst 6'6" | C Blackhawk Christian | 2023 State IN as well as sophomore Kellen Pickett Kellen Pickett 6'9" | PF Blackhawk Christian | 2025 State #108 Nation IN . North Daviess also comes in at 8-0 and sits at #2 in 3A. They have wins over 1A #1 Evansville Christian, 1A #3 Loogootee, and 3A #5 Beech Grove this season. The Cougars are led by their senior trio of Jaylen Mullen Jaylen Mullen 6'0" | PG North Daviess | 2023 State IN , Lance Wilson Lance Wilson 6'2" | SF North Daviess | 2023 IN , and Logan Wilson Logan Wilson 6'3" | SF North Daviess | 2023 IN . The Cougars are at home in this one which will make it very interesting. The key here will be how North Daviess can deal with the size of Blackhawk on the inside. This is a must-watch game between two of the best small schools in the state.
