Journey Chaney – Jones
Chaney – Jones came off the bench and provided a major spark. He came in and immediately made an impact by getting a steal and taking it the length of the court for a one. He bring a bunch of energy throughout the rest of the game and it seem like every time I looked up, he was at the line shooting foul shots. He held his teammates accountable both on offense and defense and although they lost the game, he help close the gap from a larger lead.
Warlick is very strong and active around the rim. With his ability to shoot the three and post up, he is a matchup nightmare for almost anybody that must guard him. He is very effective when he is playing the pick and pop because of his ability to be a threat from distance. When he gets in the lane, he doesn’t mind going through contact to finish a play. If the ball is coming off the rim you might want to box out because if not you could be a part of a poster from him crashing the offensive glass.
Highlights
Yearby is an intangibles type of guy. What he provides in a basketball game might not show up in the box score but his energy and defense are something that every college basketball team needs in their program. Offensively he gets in the lane to make good passes to his teammates to either get a bucket or be able to make a play for the next teammate to score a basket. Defensively he knows how to move his feet and beat offensive guys to the spot without fouling. Although he didn’t have to display it much in this contest, he can shoot the ball and handle it as well when he needs to.
