Continue ReadingThe Tournament of Champions was held at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was a tournament that featured schools from a variety of different classes from Oklahoma and held some premiere talent and performances. I covered the two games in the consolation bracket, which featured some great talent. The first game saw a matchup of Bartlesville (6A-2) against Roff (Class B). On paper, this game looks like a blowout, but Roff gave Bartlesville a run for their money. Roff has some good talent for such a small school and led at various points in the second half. Bartlesville was able to pull out the win, led by a couple of solid performances.
Miles Flemons Miles Flemons 6’8″ | PF Union | 2026 State OK has been an impressive rebounder in both games that I have seen him in. He is a 6’7 freshman that utilizes his size to a big advantage. He is good at getting position and reading where the ball is coming off of the rim or going. I recorded six defensive and an offensive rebound him, but there is a chance that I missed some. It felt like he had closer to ten rebounds. Outside of his rebounding, he has shown the ability to score inside. Two of my favorite things about him is his motor, he is always hustling for rebounds and loose balls. The other thing is that he plays with confidence for a freshman. It was an impressive performance on the glass for him.
TO Barrett TO Barrett 6’4″ | SG Link Academy | 2024 #138 Nation MO impacted the game in every single area in this one, including rebounding. He can shoot, score inside, knock down pull-ups, and knock down free throws extremely well. I am guessing that he had close to 20 points in this one. He is a phenomenal passer, as he made jaw-dropping passes to set his teammates up all game. There were several times that he grabbed the rebound and pushed the pace, setting up his team for the assist or him scoring. He hustled and got an offensive rebound and found the open teammate for a mid-range jumper. His teammate missed, but he still made the right play and displayed good court vision. He played great defense, both on ball and off the bal. He had several steals in this game and a block, as well. I recorded six rebounds for him, but it is possible that he had more. He impacted the game in every area. There is a reason why he is the #2 ranked prospect in the state for all juniors.
Tallen Bagwell Tallen Bagwell 6’5″ | SF Roff | 2023 State OK gobbled up the rebounds in this one. He utilized his 6’5 frame and length to grab rebounds and to contest shots. He had some good shot contests in this one and showed that he has scoring in his arsenal. A couple of times, he used a post move to get free and score. He scored inside multiple times in this one and showed the ability to pass. He delivered good bounce and chest passes for assists in this. To go along with scoring inside, he showed that he can hit a turnaround mid-range jumper. He had a solid all-around game to help his team stay in it and almost pull off the upset.
Caleb Rogers
Caleb Rogers
Caleb Rogers plays with five-star prospect David Castillo David Castillo 6’1″ | PG Sunrise Christian Academy (KS) | 2024 #80 Nation KS , so he does not get much opportunity to shine or to be a featured piece on the offense, but he was able to find a way to impact the game outside of that. He did that with his rebounding. He came down with multiple rebounds, I recorded four of them, but it is possible that it was more than that. To go along with that, he played solid defense and came away with a block. Despite the lack of size, being only 6’3, he played with heart and a will to win.
