This year’s National Division saw St. John’s, a team from Washington DC that boasts a number of high-level prospects, edge out San Diego’s top team, St. Augustine, in the championship game.
Who were the next tier of top players in the field? Here’s my take:
Aidan Fowler Aidan Fowler 5'10" | PG JSerra | 2024 State CA-S , JSerra Catholic
Crafty scoring guard capable of taking a game over with three-level scoring. Has elite burst with the ball and gets paint touches at will.
Connor Sevilla Connor Sevilla 6'0" | PG Dougherty Valley | 2023 State CA-N , Dougherty Valley
Underrated point guard plays with great pace, feel and has underrated burst to get into the paint. Great shooter.
Derrius Carter-Hollinger Derrius Carter-Hollinger 6'5" | SF St. Augustine | 2023 State CA-S , Saint Augustine
Wiry, versatile forward guards multiple positions and impacts the game as a short range finisher above the rim
Mason Williams, O’Dea Catholic
Wiry point guard has great size and length, can play on and off the ball, scores it efficiently from three levels and can guard multiple positions.
Sebastian Mack, Coronado (NV)
UCLA-bound scoring guard is wired to get buckets from each level, and plays with tremendous confidence.
Cooper Lewis, Lehi (UT)
Sweet shooting combo guard is crafty ball handler, makes crisp passes and moves well without the ball to get to his spots on the floor.
Malik Mack, St John’s (DC)
The Harvard-bound lefty exploded for 21 points against Saints in the National title game. The lefty has nice burst and is a microwave like scorer with a quick release.
