Prince set quite the tone on Day 1 of the South Granville Holiday Invitational. He poured in 18 points and shook off an ankle injury late to make things happen for the Falcons as they squeezed out a victory in overtime. He’s a 2024 prospect that’s shown quite the trajectory heading into his junior season with CB Aycock.

DJ Prince
DJ stepped up in a big way off the bench for the CB Aycock Falcons. He showed off his ability to move without the ball and make things happen in space, especially in the fourth quarter and overtime. He finished with 11 of his 13 points in the final two frames of the game to show off his ability to make an impact in the backcourt.
Ziyon Cooper
Ziyon Cooper
Cooper held his own on the interior for the Athens Drive Jaguars in his return to the hardwood. In just his first game back, he showed he could be effective in the paint and keep defenders in foul trouble with his ability to get to the free throw line. He finished with 13 points and a slew of rebounds to show off his skills on the interior.
Spencer was stellar once again with PrepHoopsNC in attendance, pacing the Wakefield offense with 29 points and showing off his ability to score in a variety of ways. He finished with 29 points and knocked down five 3-pointers in order to show his versatility at the stretch-forward spot. He keeps defenders guessing with his shooting and ability to operate in the paint and continues to show his growth in the 2023 class.
Benjamin was all over the place for the Wakefield defense as he showed off his ability to operate on the wing and in the paint to make his presence felt. He finished with 14 points and a number of boards/assists while operating within the offense and bringing his energy and athleticism when needed.
Highlights
English is an underrated 6-foot-3 forward with skill in his wheelhouse with Granville Central. He paced the offensive attack for the Panthers with 15 points, even stepping out and knocking down a 3-pointer in the second half. He plays well as an option in the post or on the wing and has the ability to handle the ball as well.
Koloszar continues to show his improvement on the hardwood as a playmaker, ballhandler and finisher in the paint over at Green Hope High. He posted 19 points to lead the way for the Falcons as he showed off his ability to play around the rim and knock down shots in space. He’s an unsigned 2023 prospect that colleges at the DII, DIII and JUCO levels should take a look at.
Cuffe was a new face that climbed onto the PH radar with his ability to knock down shots from distance. He finished with 16 points, including two 3-pointers to show off his shot-making ability on the floor. He did well to utilize his 6-foot-3 height to shoot over smaller defenders and make things happen. He’ll be a name to keep an eye on at Green Hope High.
Alston was another top performer on Day 1 of the South Granville Holiday Invitational, pouring in 29 points for Franklinton High to pace their offense. He showed off his prowess on the perimeter with seven made 3-pointers to set the tone and show off for the Rams’ offense as they ran away with things by the end.
Williams was electric in the JF Webb backcourt as he showed off his volume-shooting ability. He was another top scorer on the day as he finished with 26 points along with four made 3-pointers to pace the Warriors offensive attack. He’s a 6-foot-1 guard to keep an eye on in the 2023 class given his ability to operate at the lead guard spot.
