Tuesday

Bishop Canevin v Belle Vernon: The defending state champions in Class A hoops meet the newly minted football state champions on the hardwood. There are a number of BVA players who play both sports and it's unknown just how "ready" they'll be. BVA comes in at 1-2, beating a Steel Valley team in a similar situation--They were without key pieces [player_tooltip player_id='1395834' first='Makhai' last='Valentine'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1395937' first='Cruce' last='Brookins'], among the rest of the varsity players. Bishop Canevin will be led by seniors [player_tooltip player_id='1186057' first='Shea' last='Champine'], who steps in to lead the backcourt, along with Adante Berrien. They'll be asked to become major contributors after graduation losses and the transfers out of [player_tooltip player_id='1621402' first='RJ' last='SLEDGE'] and Amari Evans.

Baldwin vs Bethel Park: Baldwin is led by senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1186051' first='James' last='Wesling'], one of the best scorers in the South Hills whom we have featured here previously. BP is now coached by Pittsburgh basketball legend Dante Calabria and haven't missed a beat in replacing graduation losses. They sit 3-0 with back-to-back-to-back lopsided wins.

St Joseph's of Natrona Heights vs Burrell: St. Joe's is led by a solid facilitator in 6'0" senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1284793' first='Jimmy' last='Giannetta'], who has several scholarship offers. Burrell is breaking in a young team after making a spirited run in districts last year but there are several underclassmen to follow.

North Hills vs Butler: Butler enters the contest coming off a tight win over a pesky Eden Christian side that played without their top player in senior [player_tooltip player_id='991350' first='Damon' last='Astorino']. Butler will be led by senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='991371' first='Madden' last='Clement'], who scored 33 vs Eden. North Hills had to replace four college level players in its senior class but have seemingly done so--and they've still got the top junior in the region in 6'7" forward [player_tooltip player_id='1173989' first='Royce' last='Parham'].

Latrobe vs Morgantown(WV): This will be a major test for [player_tooltip player_id='1186412' first='Landon' last='Butler'] and his teammates as the Mohigans come to town. Morgantown features 6'5" guard Brody Davis, who has several D2 offers; West Liberty commit Garrison Kisner and 6'0" guard Sharron Young, their top player, who currently holds 5 D1 offers.

Chartiers Valley vs Seton LaSalle: The Rebels looked very impressive vs Serra last Thursday and face another tough non-divisional contest as they take a short trip down traffic filled Greentree Road to tangle with sophomore prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1188607' first='Jayden' last='Davis'] and Char Val. The task of slowing him down will be a team effort but expect Davis and Seton senior [player_tooltip player_id='1116023' first='Connor' last='Spratt'] to be at each other all night. Seton's frontcourt will be big enough and talented enough to handle what Char Valley can throw at them with 6'5" junior Hayden Merchant and 6'4"-200lb bruiser Nick Sikorski both being players for colleges to watch.

Wednesday

Beaver Area at South Fayette: This one has the potential to be an interesting matchup in the South Hills. Beaver will be led by guard [player_tooltip player_id='1185952' first='Sawyer' last='Butler'] and 6'3" [player_tooltip player_id='1395899' first='Aiden' last='Townsend'].

Penn Hills vs Steel Valley: Another one that could be really interesting on Wednesday--If Steel Valley can round their top players into shape the battle between Penn Hills 6'4" guard [player_tooltip player_id='991332' first='Daemar' last='Kelly'], a Quinnipiac commit and [player_tooltip player_id='1395834' first='Makhai' last='Valentine'] could be a good one.
