Tavian Cruse
Tavian Cruse
Cruse is not a new name, per se, but he deserves notice for blowing up in the early part of his senior season. Wow! He’s averaging 16 points and 16 rebounds as the big option for the Braves to balance their fine guard play. He shoots it well enough from deep to keep defenses honest too.
Devin Kerr

Look at the numbers Kerr is putting up in the early going for Piper. He is shooting about 60 percent from the field and grabbing double-digit rebounds every time out. After getting his feet wet as a sophomore he showed he was ready for a bigger role by performing well for Drive 5 over the summer. He moves well in the lane and finds openings to shoot his jumper. And best of all, he really fights in the paint.
Braxton McDaniel

McDaniel is finally getting his chance in the middle for the Eagles, and he’s producing, particularly on the glass. He’s pulling down 7 rebounds a game and defending the paint. Silver Lake is having to rebuild this season, and leadership from seniors like McDaniel is crucial.
Caleb NooNoo

Topeka West had a tall test when it came to replacing star shooting guard Elijah Brooks. So far, so good. They returned some quality pieces, and NooNoo has added a bunch of length and explosiveness in the paint. This guy can fly and has the fine feet of a standout soccer player. He really scraps on the boards and is one of the most natural rim protectors around too. He doesn’t always score many points, but he’s giving the Chargers what they need.

Royal Valley lost so much talent from last year, opportunities were there for new guys to step forward. The Washburn Rural transfer made the switch to Royal Valley and has been looking good in his new surroundings. He’s got good length for a guy who floats on the perimeter and shoots it well. He can slash to the basket and get off a quick-release jumper.
