The Broncos are 0-1 on the young season, in the opening contest of the year Lisbon lost 67-66 to Barnes County North in a tightly contested matchup. Coming up, the Broncos play the Enderlin Eagles in the "Goat Game". Lisbon will be hosting. This is a big rivalry game for both schools and for Ransom County. The "Goat Game" is rich in history and is one of the best rivalries in ND.

https://twitter.com/Enderlinad/status/1602748146777554945

Lisbon is led by veteran coach Kim Mark and the Broncos are a Class B team in Region 1.

Last season the Broncos finished with an 11-11 record. The year ended in the Region 1 Tournament when Central Cass took them down.

The Lisbon Broncos are an athletic team. They have had younger players getting varsity time the past 2 years and I would expect to see that experience pay dividends this year. The team will not have the big bruisers inside as they did with Caleb Olson. The 2-time All-Region post player graduated last year and is now playing football at UND.

The strengths of this Lisbon team should be team speed and quickness. I believe they will have as good of perimeter players as we have seen in a while at Lisbon.

Top Players

[player_tooltip player_id='1144569' first='Jayden' last='Bittner'] (2024) |5'10 G|

He is coming off a knee injury from the baseball season but looked very good this off-season. In game #1, Bittner exploded for 32 points! Jayden set Lisbon's school record for 3-pointers for the boy's team as a sophomore this past year. Bittner has the skill and athleticism to be an All-Region player this season.

Sam Kelsen (2024) |6'2 PF|

He had an excellent football season and will give the Broncos great quickness and strength both on the perimeter and post.

Wyatt Olson (2024) |6'0 G|

He broke his collarbone this past football season. The Broncos are hoping to get him back shortly after the Christmas break. Wyatt gives the team quickness on the perimeter and he is an excellent shooter and penetrator.

Wyatt Webb (2023) |6'4 F|

He is the only returning senior on this squad. Wyatt is a lanky player who can play in the post and perimeter. Webb is an unselfish player who can score on the inside and outside.

[player_tooltip player_id='1558625' first='Lincoln' last='Adair'] (2025) |6'0 G|

He logged some minutes on the varsity last year and the young Adair played well. Lincoln will have the opportunity to break into the starting lineup this year. He is very competitive, gives the team quickness, has the ability to score from the 3-point line and get to the basket.

Easton Bergemann (2024) |6'1 G|

He is another player who will have the opportunity to help the team on the perimeter. Easton is a solid athlete with versatility.

[player_tooltip player_id='1695932' first='Ethan' last='Gilbert'] (2024) |6'7 PF|

The 6"7" post player looked very good in the offseason. Ethan is strong in the post and can hit the mid-range jump shot. Ethan has been plagued with bad knees and his ability to get up-n-down the court and stay healthy are keys for him. Gilbert will give the Broncos size and length in the paint.

PHD asked coach Kim Mark who he thought would be the top teams in Region 1

Kim Mark: "Central Cass should be the dominant team in our region. They return a nucleus of very talented players. Kindred will not be that far behind Cass."

Good Luck Broncos!
