joined the team over the summer. They are 5-1, with only a loss to highly-ranked Wellsville on their record. Ball (pictured) has been a beast in his senior season. We listed him as a small forward, but he’s really more like a big guard who can overwhelm opponents in the paint. He has gone over 20 points numerous times already and bringing competitive leadership.

This guy jumped on our radar last week when he turned in the game of his life – 37 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in an enormous win over Bennington. He’s big on the glass for a sophomore, averaging 7 rebounds to go with his 18 points. He’s making a big leap from his junior year, when he averaged 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to earn honorable mention in the tough Central Plains League. We’ll be keeping an eye out to see if this hot start continues.

Bishop Ward stormed through their first four games before stumbling against Hayden. Greer has been consistently spectacular, averaging 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. He was solid as a junior, tossing in 8 points and dishing out 3 assists last year. The Cyclones’ regular season schedule appears pretty manageable, so keep an eye on this team.
The Bluejays are rolling, due in large part to the leadership of senior wingman Rokey. He went for 20 against Jefferson West. He is a sharpshooter from deep who can also really run the floor. His length lends to impact in the paint and on the glass. He was first team all-Big Seven League last year and is rolling toward bigger honors this year.
The Trojans are deep and talented. There’s no single standout on this team. But we’re highlighting Sawyers here because he averaged 22 points and 7 rebounds over the last three games, including 29 points against Abilene. He eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for his career recently too.
Swartz is a double-double machine. His current 21 points and 13 rebounds hasn’t led to a lot of wins yet, but the Roadrunners have faced a pretty tough schedule. The senior scored 33 points against El Dorado and grabbed 17 rebounds against Hutch Trinity. He isn’t recording the steals and assists quite like last year. But he’s scoring at a higher clip.
