I’m a huge fan of Dickerson’s upside and we saw just that in the beginning of the game. Huron’s fast start was the difference in the game and that quick beginning felt like it was spearheaded by Dickerson’s play. He scored quickly and impressively in the game. First he buried a mid range jumper then he turned the corner on his defender and got to the free throw line where he buried both attempts. After that, Dickerson shook off a defender and connected on a three pointer.
Highlights
Moyer had 22 points in the win against the Pirates. I was very impressed with his ability to handle the ball and initiate the offense. Moyer seemed to have a nice feel for when his team needed him to handle, distribute, or score. He showed some real blow by ability off the bounce, especially early in the game. On a few occasions, Moyer put the ball on the floor, took a straight line path to the rim, and had them on his hip in no time. He’s the type of lead guard that teams need to win tight games.

Doumbouya had a critical matchup against Saline star Dylan Mesman Dylan Mesman 6’5″ | PF Saline | 2024 MI , who can match brute strength with almost anyone. Doumbouya definitely held his own using verticality and athleticism to play very solid defense. He had some critical momentum swinging stops in the game. There should certainly be a mention of his back up Justin Latham (2024, PF). Latham used his length to make easy looks at the rim a rarity.
Jack Ezerkis

Pinckney’s floor general showed the ability to score at all 3 levels. He had a pretty catch and shoot triple, ran the floor for an easy layup finish, and slid through the lane for a floater. Ezerkis finished the game with 11 points by my count. He showed some nice flashes as a passer as well when he drove the baseline and dumped the ball off to Drakon Mayes Drakon Mayes 6’4″ | SF Pinckney | 2024 State MI for an easy deuce. Ezerkis will be a player to keep an eye on for the rest of the season.
Mesman was matchup with 2 defenders that were up to the challenge. But Mesman has strength for days and he continued to pound and be physical. Despite the defense he scored in double figures and was a critical presence in the paint for Saline. The nationally recruited tight end is so important for the Hornets. When he plays well, as does Saline.
