Hortonville upset Kimberly in their FVA opener and dropped a solid Notre Dame squad by 19 points on Nov. 29. Senior forward August Maurer August Maurer 6'4" | PF Hortonville | 2023 State WI is off to a huge start, averaging 24 points, five rebounds, and three assists per game.
Coming off an eight-point loss to defending Division 2 champs Pewaukee, the Spartans look to get back on the right track. Sophomore forward Xzavion Mitchell Xzavion Mitchell 6'6" | SF Oshkosh North | 2025 State #119 Nation WI leads the team in scoring (25.0 ppg), rebounding (8.2 ppg), and assists (4.2). Junior wing Stevie Clark Stevie Clark 6'6" | SF Oshkosh North | 2024 State #322 Nation WI is right there with him, posting 19 points and four assists per outing.
Cedarburg (2-0) at Grafton (2-1)
The Bulldogs are off to a somewhat surprising 2-0 start and coming off a 30-point win over West Bend West. They’ll get their first big road test of the season against a Grafton squad that figures to be a contender in Division 2. Cedarburg currently has four players averaging in double figures — Logan Zahour Logan Zahour 6'1" | SG Cedarburg | 2025 State WI (17.5 ppg), Jacob Fries Jacob Fries 6'0" | PG Cedarburg | 2023 WI (17.0 ppg), Jack Dykstra (16.0 ppg), and Isaac Holton (13.0 ppg).
The Black Hawks feature a dangerous 1-2 punch in the backcourt of Michael McNabb Michael McNabb 6'4" | CG Grafton | 2024 State WI (32.0 ppg and Juan Guerrero Hernandez Juan Guerrero Hernandez 6'3" | CG Grafton | 2025 State #189 Nation WI (15.3 ppg), a pair of Division 1 prospects.
Sun Prairie West (2-0) at Verona (2-1)
The Wolves are just one of two unbeaten teams in Big Eight play, getting by Beloit Memorial and Madison West to open the season. Sophomore Chris Davis. Jr. is having a breakout season at 18.0 points per game. His backcourt mate, senior Darius Chestnut Darius Chestnut 6'2" | SG Sun Prairie West | 2023 State WI (14.0 ppg), is one of the top uncommitted seniors in the state.
Verona has already upset Division 2 power Wauwatosa West this season. Sophomore forward Andrew Murphy leads the way at 23.0 points per game.
