Thanksgiving Week I ran all around the city to many events. I attended the Sunnyslope Hoopsgiving Tournament at Deer Valley, Hilcrest Prep vs Over Time Elite, Millennium Nike Tournament, Fear the Hop at Mesa, Welcome to the Jungle at Gilbert and Black Hawk Thanksgiving Classic at Williams Field.

Here were some of the top senior standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id='831114' first='Cody' last='Williams'] Perry

A long wing can play on or off the ball. He has deep range on his three point shot and he flies on the break gracefully. His pull-up from mid-range is improving and he defends multiple positions. With his size and length, he makes it difficult for anyone to get by him or even score on him.

[player_tooltip player_id='814038' first='Noah' last='Amenhauser'] Estrella Foothills

A massive post player with skill and advance passing. He has a drop step, the mid-range jumper and finds anyone in the high post or off of the double team. He was actually bringing the ball up at times when they press the guards. He is a strong two-handed rebounder and will step out to the three point line. He has a soft touch inside the paint with his massive hands. He can lean on his defender and go to work plus use hook shots. Not many his size has his skill set.

[player_tooltip player_id='994130' first='Isaiah' last='Kai'] Campo Verde

A scoring point guard is starting off well. His pull-up from mid-range is polished and has the deep three. He rises up high up above the crowd. He will whip the ball around to open shooters. He made a few up the court and some pinpoint passes in traffic. He got to the rim with his burst and showed off his athleticism with reverse layups.

[player_tooltip player_id='996161' first='Lashy' last='Perez'] Apollo

A senior point guard can hit the catch three point shot and he comes with a shifty handle. He has an unselfish nature, as he will make the extra pass often to get the best possible team shot. He gave up multiple shots for better shots to his teammates. He will burst by to score when needed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1141680' first='Bobby' last='Holcumb'] Apollo

A tough scoring point guard who can score with either hand in the paint driving to the basket. He gets himself to the free throw line often with his burst and can post up to score inside and has the runner. He can rise up from mid-range with high elevation and hit the three. He is their engine of the team.

[player_tooltip player_id='937187' first='Carter' last='Gittens'] Sunrise Mountain

A strong upper bodied wing forward whose skill has improved. He has filled in some and his bounce is even more impressive then last year. He rebounds, runs the floor, plays the passing lanes for steals and plays above the rim on the break. He is looking sharp to start his senior year. He did unfortunately get injured the next game.

[player_tooltip player_id='937183' first='Dalton' last='Graham'] Sunrise Mountain

A power forward with a unique skill set. He is a rare point forward type who can take the ball off the glass and go coast to coast. He has impeccable timing on his passes and a very good handle for his size. He seems like he keeps growing and growing and rebounds well with some physicality.

[player_tooltip player_id='1306008' first='Kolin' last='Vance'] Paradise Valley (Pictured)

A long lefty wing forward flies in transition. He is super graceful in the air. He can rip through and score with either hand through contact despite his leaner frame. He can cross his man over and rise up to score from mid to the three. He also defends nearly every position on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='814517' first='Cohen' last='J Gonzales'] Mesquite

A combo scoring guard is not your typical smaller guard. The speed he plays at is a little different then most in the AIA. He is like on the fast forward button. His skill is high level and has stamina for days. Don't be surprised to see him dunk it on the break. He is a three level scorer and makes it look easy during stretches with range. His ball fakes are a thing of beauty.

[player_tooltip player_id='1220369' first='Darius' last='Anderson'] Dysart

A long wing shooter rebounds well in his area and can give a hard ball fake and get to the rack. He shoots it fairly consistently from the perimeter and he is creating more offense for himself then last year. He should have a huge year in the West Side.
