Our staff at Prep Hoops Indiana is in the gym nearly every night scouring for new prospects or to reevaluate old ones who may have made a leap. Here are six prospects between the freshmen and sophomore classes who have made major impressions early in the season.
Brigham Jr. has quickly asserted himself as one of the more talented guards in Indiana’s Class of 2026. He is averaging 18.3 points per game to begin his career and has shot 8-19 from beyond the arc. Christel House has themselves a dynamic playmaker to pair with a solid senior class. Sectional 28 still runs through Beech Grove, but this team could be dangerous come tournament time featuring their freshman lead guard.
Highlights
Thought of as one of the best pure shooters in Indiana’s Class of 2026, Daeger has lived up to that status early in his freshman campaign. The 6’2″ guard is second on Silver Creek’s team averaging 11.7 points per game while connecting on 7-17 shots from beyond the arc. Daeger is one of the better freshmen in the souther Indiana area and definitely a name to remember for years to come.
Highlights
Anderson has a lot of talent, especially on the offensive end, and it has led them to an impressive 3-0 on start to the season. One of their primary contributors has been 6’4″ wing Damien King Damien King 6’4″ | SF Anderson | 2025 State IN . After gaining valuable experience in the rotation as a freshman, King has stepped up this season averaging 11.7 points and 7 rebounds per game for the Indians. Expect to continue to see high level production from the talented sophomore.
The list of Indiana High School Basketball players who have started their career with four consecutive 20-point games can’t be very long. That is what Parke Heritage’s Treigh Schelsky Treigh Schelsky 6’0″ | PG Parke Heritage | 2026 State IN has done to begin his career. Schelsky just had his best output yet, 27 points, in a loss to South Vermillion over the weekend. If you are in the west central part of the state, this is is a prospect you are going to want to make a point of going to see.
This sharp-shooter is in the midst of a breakout sophomore season. Wright is 13-33 from beyond the arc through five games and scoring a team-leading 20.2 points per game for Sheridan. Look for the sophomore to continue to put up big numbers this season and going forward in his career. Incredibly hard worker who has put in the time to reap the benefits on the court.
