Shaheed Solebo Shaheed Solebo 6'4" | SF Lane Tech | 2024 State IL (Lane Tech – 2024)
This Lane Tech small forward’s stock is certainly on the rise after a 15 point outing where he showed his versatile scoring and improved passing. On his recruitment he said, “Right now the most is Illinois State, Cal Poly, Toledo, and Indiana State a lot. UIC and Illinois State offered in the summer.” He broke down both of his offers beginning with UIC where Chicago Elite Classic was played. “It is at home. At lot of people don’t know this but my mom went here and I was born in the hospital here. I would love to stay home.” How about Illinois State? “I like Illinois State because they know how to make high level players. I kind of like that it is out of the way. It lets you focus on your game and workout. I like the coaches and what they are doing.”
Jurrell Baldwin Jurrell Baldwin 6'6" | SF Hyde Park | 2024 State IL (Hyde Park – 2024)
Baldwin was fantastic in a 22 point outing way over performing his ranking. Looked like a legit top 20 player in the class. Several schools have shown interest as of late in the new Hyde Park forward he said, “I have a few schools that have shown interest in Murray State, Iowa State, South Carolina, and St. Louis.”
Justus McNair Justus McNair 6'3" | SG Joliet West | 2024 State IL (Joliet West – 2024)
McNair has consistently been one of the better shot makers and two way guards early in the season from the junior class. On his recruitment he told us, “Right now my main interest is from Illinois State. UNC-Wilmington came out in our open gym showing interest and Toledo.”
Lee Marks Lee Marks 6'6" | SF Mt. Carmel | 2024 State IL (Mt. Carmel – 2024)
This small forward is a bouncy prospect with a ton of upside being able to check multiple positions and score from all over the floor. He told us, “I have heard from UIC, Dartmouth, Radford, Valpo, Akron, Lehigh, and Belmonth. Haven’t got offered by any yet so far.”
Angelo Ciaravino Angelo Ciaravino 6'6" | SF Mt. Carmel | 2024 State #160 Nation IL (Mt. Carmel – 2024)
What an outing from the other Mt. Carmel forward as he dropped 26 points scoring with ease on threes, drives, and in the open floor while blocking several shots. “I have offers from Wisconsin Green Bay and Southern Illinois.” The talented multi skilled forward broke down each school which he visited starting with UW-Green Bay. “They invited me out. Very hospitable to me while I was there. I met with multiple coaches. I met with someone who was talking about school life outside of basketball. I really liked how they came in from a loss and they didn’t seem too down about the loss they were ready for the next game.” What stands out about SIU? “Plugged in with the Wolves. Mike Mullins the head coach for the Illinois Wolves two of his sons are there. They have watched me. Very hospitable to me. Very nice campus. Everything out there is basketball. I really liked it out there.” He mentioned Belmont, Toledo, and Miami (OH) are also involved.
