Cyprus beats Lone Peak
Cyprus continues to challenge themselves with a big road win against Lone Peak at Lone Peak. Quentin Meza Quentin Meza 6'0" | PG Cyprus | 2023 State UT was unreal as he scored all over the place and he was hitting from deep, turning defense into offense and just playing with speed as he ended the night with 32 points including two amazing stop and pop three’s in transition. With a few offers any team looking to add a D1 2023 PG should really take this kid, he is legit. Arou Ayen was a key player in this game as the Pirates are trying to get healthy.
Lone Peak looks good. Cyprus is a tough team but Ike Staley Ike Staley 6'6" | SG Lone Peak | 2025 State UT is turning into an elite wing as a his true position. Jorge Suarez had a day as he is a load down in the blocks. lone Peak will have opportunites to continue to improve.
Riverton beat Murray
Earlier this year we mentioned that Riverton could end up in the Region 3 race as many teams are down. Well they are showing that they should be considered seriously as they were in full control the entire game as they played a lot of players and they got great production from some key prospects. Riverton was almost up by 30 in the 3rd quarter and they took the foot off the pedal. Still ended up winning by 20 and everyone on the bench got to play some minutes. Riverton did a fantastic job on one of the best scorers in the West as most of those points came against the 2nd and 3rd string. Riverton has something cooking over there. 6’3 Carter Nixon probably played himself into the conversation of sleeper 2023 prospects that can play at the next level. Smooth outside shoot and his activity on defense and offense was elite last night. The 6’10 Christian Henninger might not have scored a lot of points but he was effective on the floor as he clogged the lane and hauled in many rebounds. Runs the floor better than you might think.
Pleasant Grove Beat Timpview
Great bounce back win as PG improves to .500 and got great play from their Big 3. Bron was able to showcase that versatile game as the 6’11 wing was effective against Timpview. Michael Mitton Michael Mitton 6'3" | CG Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT is getting really consistent and Issac Garret is just a tough player all around. Still very impressed with what we are seeing from James Rust James Rust 6'5" | CG Timpview | 2023 State UT and Dean Rueckert Dean Rueckert 6'7" | SF Timpview | 2026 State UT . Both seem to have a great connection. These tough games will prepare them for a tough 5A run. Dean is. D1 talent and James has some next level talent as an off the ball guard.
