Although I cover high school hoops for a living college football recruiting is still one of my passions to follow. For the past decade I have released my All-Basketball Football Team for the state of Illinois on NSD. These are legit college basketball prospects that if we put on the gridiron would make an awesome squad.
Here is our offense in All-Basketball Football Team: Offense!
Quarterback
Brock Harding Brock Harding 6'0" | PG Moline | 2023 State #222 Nation IL (Moline)
The Iowa Hawkeyes hoops commit is a great leader on the hardwood and will be for our football team. Pin point passer will translate well on the gridiron and we like how he will bring mobility to the table.
Running Back
Carlos Harris Carlos Harris 6'1" | SG Curie | 2024 State #283 Nation IL (Curie)
Harris style of game reminds me so much of a running back with the way he breaks through the defense. Physical build that can be a force as a one cut runner between tackles with the speed to go the distance for TDs!
Scat Back
Jeremiah Fears Jeremiah Fears 6'1" | PG AZ Compass Prep | 2025 State #31 Nation AZ (Joliet West)
Really like him as a speed back that can catch passes and be utilized all over the field as an offensive weapon. Will be really good on sweeps and gadget plays. Someone the defense will always have to watch out for!
Wide Receiver
Luke Williams Luke Williams 6'2" | PG Naperville North | 2024 State IL (Naperville North)
Williams is a top 10 football prospect in the state of Illinois as a wide out so this makes sense. Long and athletic point guard on the hardwood will give this team a big-time downfield threat that can also runs great routes.
Wide Receiver
Terrence Smith Terrence Smith 6'5" | SF West Aurora | 2025 State #299 Nation IL (West Aurora)
Smith is one of two sophomores on our roster. Lanky and athletic dual sport athlete that gives us upside as a multi route receiving threat.
Slot Receiver
Keshon Singleton Keshon Singleton 6'2" | PG Sacred Heart Griffin | 2023 State IL (Sacred Heart Griffin)
The Air Force wide receiver commit made SportsCenter by hitting the 3A game winning shot, but his future is on the gridiron as a wide out. Strong bodied pass catcher that will be great over the middle.
Tight End
Morez Johnson Morez Johnson 6'9" | PF Thornton | 2024 State #33 Nation IL (St. Rita)
Johnson returns to the team this year as a tight end. He has bulked up and will move from WR to TE. Highlight reel athlete and tenacious on the boards. Going to be an elite threat as a pass catching tight end!
Offensive Tackle
Stefan Cicic Stefan Cicic 7'0" | C Riverside Brookfield | 2024 State IL (Riverside Brookfield)
Cicic is a huge left tackle that has excellent footwork around the hoop which will translate over to the football field as a pass protector.
Offensive Tackle
Jaheem Webber Jaheem Webber 6'9" | C Normal Community | 2024 State #300 Nation IL (Normal Community)
Webber comes back for a second straight year at right tackle. Strong post is an ideal run blocker with his strength, mobility, and strong hands.
Guard
Jeremy Harrington Jeremy Harrington 6'5" | PF Chicago Curie | 2023 State IL (Curie)
Harrington is a tough as nails power forward that is another returner on our offensive line as a gritty interior lineman.
Guard
Mark Nikolich-Wilson Mark Nikolich-Wilson 6'7" | C Rolling Meadows | 2023 State IL (Rolling Meadows)
Such a mobile and versatile basketball player we like the 6’5” wide bodied point-center as a guard that can pull in the run game leading the way for our backs.
Center
Tyler Franklin Tyler Franklin 6'6" | PF Cobden | 2023 State IL (Cobden)
Heady and tough. That is what you need up front and we have that with our center from the Appleknockers!
