We had a Sunshine Series champion crowned and a lot of big time prospects on display. Prep Hoops Florida scouts Ross Van De Griek and Riley Sheppard were on site and here are some of the players who stood out in the second half of Day 5.
The 6-0 junior point guard was in his bag in the second semifinal of the 49th Annual City of Palms Classic. Finishing with a game-high 21 points to go along with 6 rebounds and going 8-of-10 from the free throw line. He controlled the game with pace and only had 3 turnovers in tonight’s 61-52 win over Wheeler (Georgia).
The 5-11 senior point guard and Florida Gulf Coast commit added 14 points and 5 rebounds, in tonight’s 61-52 win over Wheeler (Georgia). Barno was 5-of-13 from the field and dished out three assists in the win.
In the first semifinal tonight, the 6-9 sophomore power forward recorded another double-double finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 57-55 win over Paul VI (Virginia). Boozer was finishing in all three phases whether it was attacking the basket, pulling up from mid-range or shooting from beyond the arc.
The 6-5 sophomore wing finished with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in tonight’s 57-55 win over Paul VI (Virginia). Cayden went 7-of-12 from the field and got off to a hot start scoring 11 of his points in the first half.
The 6-6 junior small forward was a lob threat early and often for Columbus, finishing with 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field. He also added four rebounds in tonight’s 57-55 win over Paul VI (Virginia). In two games at the City of Palms, Abdullahi is shooting 79 percent from the field (15-of-19) with most of his shot attempts near the rim.
