The Tri-County Conference had a solid 2021-22 season with a pair of teams winning over 20 games, including one who played in the sectional final. Here are the Tri-County Conference players to watch this season.
Anthony Farmer Anthony Farmer 5'10" | PG Salem | 2024 State NJ , 5’10 PG Salem 2024
The Rams fell in the South Jersey Group 1 title game and should compete for the sectional title again with Farmer returning. The 5’10 guard has a good first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finish around the basket. Farmer plays with control with the ball in his hands and has a nice release on his jumper. He knows how to get his teammates involved in the half court and gets deflections on the defensive end. Farmer had three 20-point games last season and should eclipse that mark in 2022-23.
Devon Johnson Devon Johnson SG Overbrook | 2023 State NJ , SG Overbrook 2023
Johnson has been a consistent scorer for the Rams on the perimeter over the last three seasons and should continue to put up good numbers for them in his senior season. He has a good shooting stroke and can knock down jumpers in bunches. Johnson is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the basket and finish around the rim. He makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and is a solid rebounder for a guard. Johnson is a sharpshooting guard prospect who should eclipse the 1,000-point mark this season.
Carter Bobbitt Carter Bobbitt 6'4" | SF St James | 2024 State SC , 6’2 SF Clearview 2024
Bobbitt will be the go-to scorer for the Pioneers this season after a strong sophomore campaign that saw him average nearly 17 points and nine rebounds a game. The 6’2 wing plays with poise in the half court as he does not get rattled easily and knows how to get to his spot on the floor. Bobbitt rises up nicely on his jumper and is unafraid of drawing contact around the basket. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is an underrated defender. Bobbitt’s ability to score the ball inside and out is something that will help is stock in a big way this season.
Merle Hans Merle Hans 5'10" | PG Wildwood | 2024 State NJ , 5’10 PG Wildwood 2024
Hans had a big sophomore campaign for Wildwood, which should carry over into his junior season. The 5’10 guard has a good handle, which he uses to get into the lane and make plays. Hans has a nice touch on his floater and can make opponents pay for giving him space on the perimeter. He uses his quick hands on the defensive end to get steals and is an underrated rebounder. Hans is a scoring lead guard prospect who should put up big numbers for Wildwood in 2022-23.
Elijah Crispin Elijah Crispin 5'10" | PG Pitman | 2025 State NJ , 5’10 PG Pitman 2025
Crispin was one of the highest scoring freshmen in the state last season and will be the go-to guy for the Panthers again this season. The 5’10 guard is a marksman from distance as he has deep range and a lightning quick release on his jumper. Crispin is capable of shooting either off the catch or bounce as he sets his feet before every shot. He has a solid handle and moves well without the ball in his hands. Crispin’s ability to knock down jumpers from behind the arc is something that will help his stock in a big way as he looks to lead Pitman deep in the state tournament.
Other Prospects to Watch:
Bryan Warren, 5’10 PG Timber Creek 2023
Gabriel Morton, 6’3 SG Delsea 2023
Cristian Mazzamutto, 5’10 PG Williamstown 2023
RJ Mustaro, SG Gloucester Catholic 2023
Charles Graves Charles Graves 6'3" | CG Glassboro | 2024 State NJ , W Glassboro 2024
