Tye will bring experience to the floor as a leader who leads by example. He brings energy and effort to the floor, which is seen on both ends. Offensively he is a long lengthy shooter who can stretch the floor, light it up from anywhere on the court, and is a dependable 3-point shooter for the Rams.
Emajai Horton (6’3/CG/2025)

Emajai is a big body 3-level scorer with a high IQ. His scoring prowess is a fascinating one for a player that is entering his sophomore season. Look for Emajai to score in bunches, as he is a tough iso scorer. He is extremely versatile as he can play where he guards; for everyone who says in order to play it, you have to be able to defend it. He is a playmaker that not only highly impacts the game but can, at any moment, completely take over a game.
Jakobi Thompson (6’2/CG/2024)

Jakobi is a player with a high motor and will be a source of energy for Provine this year. He is an elite defender that can guard multiple positions and will be able to make life rough for opposing teams better players. He plays with a high IQ and can fill it up from all three levels. He brings a level of toughness to the Provine squad, as he will not back down from any challenge.
When asked about two players that will be critical pieces of the puzzle for his team this season that was not listed in the top 3 above, Coach Washington quickly mentioned the following two players:
RaKwuez Thompson is a shifty guard that is extremely tough to defend. He makes it hard for defenses to commit to shooters, as so much attention has to be given to controlling gaps to ward off RaKwuez’s dribble penetration. He is quick on the defensive end of the court as he plays the passing lanes well, accumulating steals by jumping the passing lanes. He will be an essential piece to the puzzle as he brings so many dynamics to the court that contribute to winning.
Christopher Simmons is a highly athletic kid that has been under the radar for quite some time. Coach Washington believes this will be a breakout year for Chris, and he will be able to show his complete game. He has tools in the toolbox that he is set to unleash this year which will help Provine in the win column.
Season Outlook
Provine is looking to play uptempo and turn up the defensive pressure in hopes of turning their defense into offense. Coach believes that he has the athletes and the right players in all positions to make huge impacts throughout the course of the season. Coach Washington’s philosophy is to Play Hard, Smart, Tough, and Patient.
Coach Washington believes that if his team can continue to grow as the season progresses, stay together as a team, and stay focused on bringing a title back to Provine, then they will have a good chance of lifting the state title in the end.
