Gianni Cobb Gianni Cobb 6'0" | PG Homewood Flossmoor | 2024 State IL (Perspectives – 2024)
The Perspectives junior point is a quick twitched guard that got off to a bit of a slow start in the game we saw as he missed some bunnies inside. As the game went on he got rolling. His quickness off the bounce allows him to get in the lane with relative ease. Scored on scoop shots and acrobatic layups in addition to several threes later in the contest. Speed with the ball and shows solid playmaking feel.
Stephen Brown (Marist – 2026)
We have seen Brown several times before his high school debut, but it was fun to see the top incoming freshman big man against older competition. He provided a spark for his team with his activity level on the offensive glass and altering shots defensively. His athleticism and fluidness is impressive. Had a few turnovers but that is expected at a young age.
Ethan Kizer Ethan Kizer 6'6" | SF Metamora | 2023 State IL (Metamora – 2023)
The size and athleticism of Kizer are what make him a D1 prospect. Combine that with his ability to knock down shots as he was effective in their first game hitting four from beyond the arc. Shooting it with more confidence at the start of the season.
Matthew Zobrist Matthew Zobrist 6'5" | SG Metamora | 2025 State IL (Metamora – 2025)
Came away very impressed with Zobrist in their opener as the lefty guard has solid size and can really knock in shots from deep with a quick release. Also has active hands on the defensive end getting steals and taking them the other way for scores. Went for 15 in their game against Yorkville Christian.
Owen Freeman Owen Freeman 6'10" | C Moline | 2023 State #179 Nation IL (Moline – 2023)
The other Hawkeyes signee was doing work inside for Moline early against Wisconsin Lutheran. Top senior post has a great right handed hook shot, high points rebounds in traffic, and can block shots. Also saw some passing which intrigued us including cross court passes out of the post to shooters.
Jeremiah Fears Jeremiah Fears 6'1" | PG AZ Compass Prep | 2025 State #31 Nation AZ (Joliet West – 2025)
The younger Fears was outstanding in Peoria scoring 17 a piece in all three games we saw him at the TOC. More of a pure scorer than his older brother he has super deep range on his three point shot along with quickness off the dribble being able to get in the lane for floaters or kicking to shooters. Love how he impacts the game defensively with his active hands.
Justus McNair Justus McNair 6'3" | SG Joliet West | 2024 State IL (Joliet West – 2024)
McNair has been outstanding early in the season. The two way combo guard is the x-factor for Joliet West with the Fears bros getting all the attention. Plus shooter off the catch that has athleticism finishing in the lane on difficult shots and is a decent passer. Low-majors should start to get involved! Went for 18 points in both games to start off TOC.
Damion Porter (Fenwick – 2025)
Best high school game we have seen out of Porter in his young career as he netted 17 points against West Aurora. Strong bodied wing looked lighter on his feet and was very assertive looking for his offense finishing around the hoop, getting out in transition, and showed growth on his three ball draining a pair.
Morez Johnson Morez Johnson 6'9" | PF Thornton | 2024 State #33 Nation IL (St. Rita – 2024)
In front of his future teammates at Illinois Johnson displayed what he is best at which is rebounding the ball at a high rate. The volume board man is so aggressive going after rebounds and high-pointing them in traffic. His quick second jump was shown on both ends of the floor. Offensively his game keeps making strides. Explosive and quick twitched finisher in the paint having the dunk of the tournament at TOC on a spin move for a slam. Went for 14 points and double digit rebounds in their loss to Joliet West.
JaiQuan Holman JaiQuan Holman 5'10" | PG Springfield Lanphier | 2025 State IL (Springfield Lanphier – 2025)
At the Quincy Thanksgiving Tournament Holman started off hot on Thanksgiving night with a 17 point outing. Smaller guard that has deep range on his three point shot and works well around ball screens driving, shooting, and dishing.
Bradley Longcor Bradley Longcor 6'3" | PG Quincy | 2025 State #337 Nation IL (Quincy – 2025)
This 6’3” shooting guard from Quincy lived up to his billing as a top 10 sophomore with a 14 point outing in their Thanksgiving night game. Used his long arms to get steals taking them the other way for buckets. Showed burst splitting defenders and has a clean looking three point shot. Mid-majors and high-majors should be monitoring the sophomore.
Quentin Jones Quentin Jones 6'4" | SG Marian Catholic | 2023 State IL (Marian Catholic – 2023)
Really solid outing for the Marian Catholic star in the Chicago Heights title game as he recorded 22 points. The Cal Poly commit mostly scored in transition often taking it coast to coast for scores or fouls. Strong and physical wing.
James Bullock James Bullock 6'7" | PF Marian Catholic | 2024 State IL (Marian Catholic – 2025)
Bullock is a projectable four man that has really improved his three point shooting. Spaced the floor hitting a pair from deep. Like what he brings defensively with his versatility switching on multiple opponents.
Quentin Heady Quentin Heady 6'5" | SF Hillcrest | 2023 State IL (Hillcrest – 2023)
Long and angular small forward that has a solid spot up left handed shot, uses his length defensively, and is quick around the hoop on the offensive glass. The quality rebounder finished with 16 points. Small colleges and JUCO’s should be all over him!
Carlos Harris Carlos Harris 6'1" | SG Curie | 2024 State #283 Nation IL (Curie – 2024)
Harris is a strong bodied combo guard that did a little bit of everything against RB. He can attack downhill with force, creates turnovers with his active hands, and showed growth as a passer. Always seems to make winning plays game in and game out as he did in this 18 point outing.
Chikasi Ofoma Chikasi Ofoma 6'6" | C Curie | 2023 State IL (Curie – 2023)
Ofoma is the top uncommitted post in the state’s senior class. He is a strong bodied four man that rebounds very well in his area, gets on the offensive glass for second chance points, and handled it from mid-range for spin moves in a 16 point performance. D2s need to get in on him!
Mekhi Lowery Mekhi Lowery 6'5" | SF Oswego East | 2023 State IL (Oswego East – 2023)
Lowery led his team to the Hoops 4 Healing title with a strong performance. Towson commit is a versatile small forward that stuffs the stat sheet. In the championship game he displayed all his skills with slithery drives, mid-range jumpers, rebounding at an insane rate, and defending across the board. His passing continues to be an underrated part of his game as he makes excellent decisions.
