Sharpshooters to Watch in 2022-23

Here is a rundown of some sharpshooters to track during the upcoming season.

Augusta-bound Isaiah Arnold Isaiah Arnold 6'2" | PG DeMatha | 2023 State MD figures to be a key player for the Stags. Look for him to fill it up regularly from behind the arc.

Teyvien Barbour Teyvien Barbour 6'5" | SG Patriot | 2024 State #210 Nation VA | Osbourn ’24

Barbour is a tremendous all-around prospect, with shooting being one of his main selling points. Big things are expected from the Eagles guard.

Quint Booker Quint Booker 6'3" | SG Bishop Ireton | 2023 State VA | Bishop Ireton ’23

Booker is a southpaw who should hit a couple of threes per game this season. He will also attack closeouts and it up from the in-between areas.

Alex Chaikin Alex Chaikin 6'4" | SG Trinity Episcopal | 2024 State VA | Trinity Episcopal ’24

Chaikin is a deadeye shooter with moxie. He can wreck your game plan if you’re not properly prepared.

Justin Cheung Justin Cheung 6'0" | SG St. Maria Goretti | 2023 State MD | St. Maria Goretti ’23

Cheung is a knockdown shooter for Coach Sid McCray. Expect him to shoot a high percentage on decent volume.

Darren Harris Darren Harris 6'6" | SF Paul VI | 2024 State #38 Nation VA | Paul VI ’24

Considered one of the elite shooters in the area, Harris is often face-guarded by foes to prevent easy looks. He boasts the technique and size to nullify such strategies. PVI’s sniper opens up driving lanes for his teammates with his floor spacing and often capitalizes when it’s time to let it fly.

Drew Hatter Drew Hatter 6'3" | SG Eastern Mennonite | 2024 State VA | Eastern Mennonite ’24

Hatter is coming off a breakout sophomore campaign for the VISAA D3 Champs. Look for his production to steadily increase moving forward.

Chase Lawton Chase Lawton 6'1" | SG Bishop McNamara | 2023 State MD | Bishop McNamara ’23

Lawton is a constant threat from behind the arc. Don’t be surprised to see him drop big numbers for the Mustangs.

Dante Mayo Jr. | Richard Montgomery ’24

All signs are pointing to a fruitful junior season for Mayo. He projects to be one of the top scorers in the area, with his three-point shot being one of his main weapons.

Patrick McDonough Patrick McDonough 5'10" | PG Georgetown Prep | 2025 State MD | Georgetown Prep ’25

Coach Howard Blue considers McDonough the best shooter on his team, and perhaps the best in the area. He is certainly in the conversation.

Albert Mouring Albert Mouring 6'2" | SG Frederick Douglass | 2023 State MD | Douglass ’23

Mouring made big shots during his junior season for a very good Douglass squad. The lefty marksman might shoulder an increased load due to the departure of the Arnold twins.

Zach Murphy Zach Murphy 6'2" | SG St. Christopher's | 2023 State VA | St. Christopher’s ’23

Murphy is a top-tier shooter with in-the-gym range. The Saints captain will be one to watch closely in the 804.

Nate Pabis Nate Pabis 6'5" | SF Flint Hill | 2023 State VA | Flint Hill ’23

Pabis has been on the radar as one of the better shooters in the area for a while now. He has a chance to be among the area’s leaders in made threes.

Chancellor Perkins Chancellor Perkins 6'2" | SG Highland | 2025 State VA | Highland ’25

Perkins will be relied on to make shots for the Hawks. He is a skilled shooter whose progress will be fun to monitor.

Khalil Williams Khalil Williams 6'5" | SG Potomac (McLean, VA) | 2023 State VA | Potomac School ’23

Williams has a chance to be the top scorer in the MAC. His long-range shooting will be one of his main assets if he achieves that feat.
