Season Preview: Henry Clay

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Russ Day Jamboree at Bourbon County High School allowed many coaches to get a first look at their teams against other competition. It was a great day of basketball to get the chance to see some schools for the first time this year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Summary </strong>&nbsp;- Henry Clay is an up tempo team that wants to push it in transition and score quickly. They were at their best when pressing and speeding up the game which I see them doing the rest of the season. Great handle and really likes to control the tempo. Loves playing in transition. Three level scorer that can score from deep both off the catch and dribble. Is in constant attack mode offensively, does a good job drawing contact and getting fouled. Catch and shoot 3pt shooter off the catch. Good touch around the basket, especially on his floaters. He is very active defensively for them trying to be disruptive getting deflections and in passing lanes. Has a ton of potential only being a sophomore as he will look to become more comfortable offensively. Good receiving dump offs and finishing in transition. Capable scorer in the post with his back to the basket. Made a tough right hand hook in traffic. Does a good job using his body to create space. High IQ, always made the right play, never got sped up. Smooth wing that isn't overly athletic but is shifty to get to the rim and crafty to finish. Great instincts. Would have liked for him to be more aggressive offensively but made the right plays.
