<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The junior class steps are finally part of the upperclassman category. It's a talented group with huge national transfers into powerhouse schools. We've seen these prospects grow this summer, and it's caused some shakeup in the expanded rankings. I answer a few burning questions on this class below.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Who's your favorite riser?</strong><br>I've been high on Elijah Elliot since watching his shooting and scoring g flashes as a sophomore. He's taken the leap this summer and expanded his game. The 6'4 guard had a more significant role with the Florida Rebels, allowing him to show he could be an efficient scorer. He makes shots on and off the ball. He's a potent distributor that can find cutting teammates and gives you a secondary playmaker.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Which prospect from your area is ranked too low?</strong><br>I think [player_tooltip player_id='1055721' first='Ramone' last='Seals'] will take the leap in the back half of the season. Seals is one of the most talented players in the Tampa area. The smooth 6'5 athlete can get to the back went he wants, flashes a polished mid-range game, and has the frame to be a plus defender. When everything clicks for Seals or the minute he gets aggressive, there will be few that can slow him down.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Who has the potential to outplay their ranking next season?</strong><br>I think three players can see playing their way up the rankings, and they're all in the top 30. [player_tooltip player_id='1055782' first='Lorenzo' last='Cason'] had an excellent summer shooting the ball while being an athletic lead guard. He'll get another running mate in the top 125, [player_tooltip player_id='1055581' first='Jordan' last='Lanier'], to feed and focus on his playmaking. [player_tooltip player_id='1306083' first='Yoshi' last='Nimmo'] comes in at 26 and will have a chance to show every facet of his game at Haines City. The 6'6 long, athletic wing can hit from deep, get in the paint, and hit from the midrange. He may not put up the numbers the other guys may, but the film will be hard to deny. [player_tooltip player_id='1055794' first='Jordan' last='Tillery'] showed toughness and the ability to guard four positions as a sophomore in a loaded Dr. Phillips team. He'll add to their defensive depth and wing talent with him transferring to Oak Ridge. He'll finally play full-time minutes on the wing with a high-speed offense giving him a chance to show offensive gains he didn't have last year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Anyone you think will play their way onto this list?</strong><br>Xzavion McCoy and [player_tooltip player_id='1306091' first='Jeremy' last='Elyzee'] just missed the cut. McCoy is a point guard that can score in bunches. Elyzee is a 6'5 forward with productive physical tools. They'll both have the room to put together another good varsity season, strengthening their case for the expanded spring rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
