MC Scrimmage Session III Top Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>PH NorCal was at Modesto Christian High School on Saturday Nov12 for the annual scrimmage featuring 12 teams from NorCal, and Central Cal. 3 Sessions with four teams playing each other for 35 minutes. In the third group we had Edison from Stockton, Clovis North, Modesto Christian, and Granada.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1503627' first='Jehahn' last='Williams'] 6'1 2023 Guard of Edison HS, Stockton. He was aggressive from the point of attack, solid handles, a good first step, trying to beat his man off the dribble, sometimes drawing fouls. His mid-range jumper off the dribble was going down. He was tough to stop in transition taking it strong, or avoiding contact to get to the basket. He has lengthy arms, quick hands, and foot-speed to stay in front of defenders.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jaylen Bryant 6'3 2023 W/P Clovis North. Standing only 6'3 Bryant gives an all-out effort defending in the post. He has good instincts, long arms, quickness, and foot-work that helps him have some success defending bigger players in the post. He's a good rebounder that runs the court good. He'll get points in the paint with his quick bounce to get put-backs, a jump hook, and a paint jumper. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1119247' first='Jamari' last='Phillips'] 6'3 2024 Guard of Modesto Christian HS. NorCals top ranked prospect in the 2024 class. He's a nationally ranked player. Phillip has deep range accuracy putting up 3ptrs. He might be underrated as a passer, he showed good vision, and timely passing delivering to players in stride. He had good post entry passes, and he grabbed some rebounds. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='950886' first='Tyler' last='Harris'] 6'7 2023 Point Forward of Granada HS. He gives an instant lift, and makes this team a legitimate threat to do real damage this season. He's handling away from the basket, using his dribble more to create for himself, and set up teammates with good vision and solid passing. His length and stride puts him right at the rim for layups and dunks with one or two dribbles. He hit a few open 3's.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1381206' first='Nate' last='Keaney'] 6'1 2023 Guard of Granada. He's a tough minded guard who plays with good intensity. He has good handles, vision and foot speed, pushing, or making the long pass up court. He can hit the mid-range jumper, and 3ptrs spotting up in the corner and on the perimeter. His post entry passing, then cutting to the basket generated a few buckets for his team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1115391' first='Jalen' last='Brown'] 6'2 2023 Guard of Modesto Christian. He's an athletic guard that will be hard to stop in open space and transition with the attention on others. He's an explosive guard off the dribble, he'll throw it down if there's a path. His skills, athleticism along with foot-speed, and quickness makes him a contributor on both sides of the ball in any given game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Loukas Jones 6'3 2025 Guard of Clovis North. He's one of the steady players on this team. He's a threat to knock down the open mid-range and 3pt shot. He does a good job of moving and finding open space for his shots. He takes care of the ball, a solid passer and court runner. He's a head up player always looking to take advantage of others mistakes. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
