Pisgah. Ragland’s size at 6’9 catches the eye immediately and he certainly provides Berkmar with a big body in the middle. He scored well out of the post and also knocked down a few 15-footers. Ragland’s combination of size and skill make him one of the state’s most intriguing 2025 prospects.
Mo Diao Mo Diao 6’9″ | C Mt. Bethel | 2024 GA had a solid outing on Saturday and played a large role in helping Mt. Bethel secure the win over Woodward. Diao was dominant around the basket on both ends. He did a great job of protecting the rim, tallying several blocks and limiting Woodward’s forwards. Offensively, Diao finished really well around the rim. He had a couple of big dunks and finished several layups through fouls. If Diao continues to produce like he did on Saturday, Mt. Bethel could be due for a deep playoff run.
Despite Sandy Creek losing to a talented Norcross team, Micah Smith Micah Smith 6’7″ | SF Sandy Creek | 2024 State #144 Nation GA had a number of eye-opening plays and was a bright spot overall for the Patriots. His physical tools are truly unique. He’s incredibly long and rangy, has impressive athleticism, and can play multiple positions. His signature spin move off the dribble is nearly unguardable and he used it to score multiple times on Saturday. If Sandy Creek’s sights are set on Macon, Micah Smith Micah Smith 6’7″ | SF Sandy Creek | 2024 State #144 Nation GA will have to be big for them.
Micah Hoover Micah Hoover 6’5″ | PF King’s Ridge | 2023 State GA was the ultimate difference maker in a gritty 68-64 win over Jacksonville. Hoover was huge inside, grabbing a bunch of rebounds and finishing well around the rim. He sparked a 3rd quarter run with a few consecutive buckets which ultimately swung the momentum and gave King’s Ridge the lead. Considering Hoover is such a dirty work kind of player, his shooting is often overlooked but he knocked down a couple 3s when given space on Saturday as well.
Williams had a strong showing on Saturday, playing aggressive on both ends and scoring the ball well around the paint. It was a back-and-forth game between Buford and Lovett with both teams playing tough defense but when Buford needed a bucket, they looked to their senior forward London Williams London Williams 6’5″ | PF Buford | 2023 State GA . He uses his size and strength to his advantage in the post, moving smaller defenders and creating space to get the ball up. In my opinion, Williams is currently one of the best available power forwards left in Georgia’s 2023 class and if he continues to play like he did Saturday, he’ll be hearing from several smaller programs.
