Troy, Norwalk, and Fullerton High Schools’ will all serve as host sites as well, with 32 teams forming the bracket.
Potter is an excellent athlete who uses his quickness and agility to blow by defenders but also possesses a great feel for the game and knows just when to utilize the space created by the fear of his first step. A dual threat scorer, Potter is as likely to dunk on you as he is to hit a jumper. Potter had 15 points Monday night in a blowout victory for Orange Lutheran.
John Gazzaniga John Gazzaniga 6’6″ | PF Orange Lutheran | 2025 CA-S is a two sport athlete and you can tell the other sport is football when he gets into the post. Gazzaniga seeks out contact at every opportunity and with his 6″6 230lb frame he is more than qualified to dish out punishment in the paint. He displayed pretty good shooting touch, an ability to block shots, and was a tenacious rebounder on both ends. The big man also chipped in 8 points for Orange Lutheran in a game where they coasted.
Zion Paleo
Zion Paleo
Zion Paleo controlled the tempo of the Lancers game completely and showed a complete mastery over Orange Lutheran’s motion offense. Paleo dissected the Arlington defense on the fast break, in the half court with high pick and roll, and topped it all off with a no look alley-oop just before halftime in the blowout win. He demonstrated an ability to find his own offense, but appears to be a more traditional point guard who is pass first. Zion had 15 points for the Lancers on Monday night.
Jagger Massarotti
Jagger Massarotti
Jagger Massarotti is a lightning quick point guard who causes issues for the opponent on both ends of the floor. The spear of a swarming defense, Massarotti uses his wiry strength and good hands to get into passing lanes and make it difficult for the other team to even initiate their offense. On the other side of the court Jagger is a great drive and kick point guard who primarily gets his teammates involved before looking for his own shot. Massarotti is the engine of a scrappy Sante Fe team and was able to will them down to the stretch with 15 points to a win in a competitive game over Western Christian.
Eli Gardner
Eli Gardner
Eli Gardner immediately stands out simply because he is a freshman starting on a team that won the division 1 title last year. Well, if anyone had doubts about Gardner being ready due to his age or lack of experience those should’ve been taken care of this evening. Not just by easily scoring 15 points with a couple of three’s (one from the corner and one from the wing, but neither hit the rim), but the ease with which he defended the quick, agile guards of Sunny Hills. Gardner’s long arms give him an advantage on both ends and I look forward to him growing into his body even more because as he grows and adds weight he should continue to improve.
