Clark/Willow Lake – Team Preview

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Today we are checking out the Cyclones! Clark/Willow Lake is a Class A squad that plays in Region 2. The Cyclones are coached by <em>Jerome Nesheim</em> who is a highly respected coach across South Dakota, a legend in those parts, and one of the best in the business! The Cyclones have a talented squad and they will pick up many wins this season. The problem is, Region 2 has some tough talent to get through with teams like Sioux Valley, Hamlin, and Deuel. Keep tabs on the Cyclones this season, they will be successful and they will have a fun team to watch. Clark/Willow Lake will have their sights set on getting back to the SoDak 16 game. If they can get there, anything can happen and you might see the Cyclones in the State Tournament. Some Cyclone highlights from last year were winning the Northeast Conference for the 9^th&nbsp;time in 10 years.&nbsp;They beat the State B Runner-up Lower Brule,&nbsp;and the Cyclones had DeSmet on the ropes until the last 7 seconds. They also beat State qualifier Groton as well! Clark/Willow Lake was one game away from the State Tournament last year, can they make it this year?</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">&nbsp;Off-Season</span></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Cyclones had an excellent offseason and they grew/improved as a team. They played very well at the team camps they attended. They played exceptionally at the University of Kansas camp. Kaplan averaged 10.2 ppg and 6.5 rpg. Huber is a 4-year starter for the Cyclones. Trey is a tremendous defender and he creates offensive problems with his quickness. Huber could be described as a lockdown defender and an opportunistic scorer. The Cyclones have an exciting new player with 6'0" 8th grader [player_tooltip player_id='1655908' first='Bo' last='Begeman'] who moved into the school district from Sioux Falls Christian.
