With the AAU Basketball season already under way and first tournaments for some starting this weekend in St Cloud I thought I would get things kicked off by starting with the 14U group for [program_tooltip program_id='2075723' first='ND' last='Attack'] (8th graders going to be freshman), this is a solid group that has some size along with quality guards who all bring something a bit different to the team. This team has 8 rostered players along with a few alternates.

SCHEDULE

April 11th-12th St Cloud, MN Comets Shootout

April 25th Sioux Falls, Sanford Spring Jam

May 2nd Watertown, [program_tooltip program_id='2338386' first='Dakota' last='Niners']

May 16th Sioux Falls, PH Stomping Grounds

June 5th Sioux Falls, Hardwood Classic

Roster & Quick Player Notes

[player_tooltip player_id='2399828' first='Kasen' last='Beaudrie'] from Newburg has a high basketball IQ loves the game and playing with his teammates, always willing to make the extra pass. Plays to unselfishly at times and needs to be a bit more aggressive and look to score more often. Has arguably the quickest release on the team and definitely the shortest memory with his misses, he just keeps playing! Team first guy, has a great attitude and is very coachable.

Kasyn Brown from North Border has a quick first step off the catch and is not afraid to attack the basket against the "big guys", plays under control and makes alot of good decisions. Does a nice job of moving on the offensive end, makes it hard to guard him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2413956' first='Parker' last='Artz'] from Westhope plays with a confidence not often seen in this age group. This kid thinks shoot and score first and every team needs atleast one player with this mindset. Has shown a nice ability to create for others also along with having solid handles and passing ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='2824095' first='Kelton' last='Schulz'] from EKM is a 7th grader playing up with the 8th grade group this season and fits right in. Has good size for a 7th grader with solid ballhandling skills and decision making. Has the ability to play multiple spots with his size but can also shoot well from the outside and has solid IQ, all in all is a nice well rounded player.

Easton Gruenberg another player from North Border (rumor has it they had a very nice 8th grade group this season), is a nice player who does alot of good things for this squad especially once hes completely healthy. Handles the ball ✔️ can shoot the rock ✔️ coach on the floor ✔️.

[player_tooltip player_id='2735244' first='Jayce' last='Kollman'] from Carrington is a big that has shown a nice ability to step out n shoot the three at a decent percentage. Has solid footwork and is willing to use both hands to finish in the post. Aggressive offensively for a big and thats always a good thing especially on offensive rebounds amd putbacks. Handles the ball better then you would first guess because of his position and could round into a nice long 3 man who could also play the 4 and 5 positions if he continues to put in the time, will only get better.

Oakley Hallaway from North Star, strong stoudt guard you will mix it up with any of the bigs down low. Aggressive rebounder and attacking the basket, actually better finishing through contact then alot of kids i see. Will guard you hard and bring toughness to the team.

Hudson Myhre from New Rockford is our other big man pretty athletic true big man who can handle the ball some. Moves feet well guarding on the perimeter and is smart enough to use his length to his advantage. Strong O Board rebounder and finishes well. Confident player has alot of tools. Solid footwork on post moves and will only get better as he continues to work on his game.

ALTERNATES

[player_tooltip player_id='2850501' first='Liam' last='Becker'] from MLS streaky shooter with decent ball skills and a quick first step, plays hard and aggressive on the offensive end.

Jaxon VanEnk from EKM is a solid all round player with good length and high Basketball IQ above average fundamentals for his age. Jaxon is a good athlete who does alot very well and also puts in alot of time towards basketball and it shows. With his length and overall skill set jaxon can be used in a variety of ways on both ends of the floor. Hes able to play multiple styles but In my opinion hes at his best with the ball in his hands and playing a more uptempo style readingthe floor. Solid rebounder and good finisher at the hoop he can score in many ways.

Cale Peterson from Ellendale works as hard in the weight room as he does on his game. Has a great build for an 8th grader but also has quick feet and speed to go with it. Cale can shoot it/drive it and dish it, and also is a student of the game. Not at all shy about driving to the hoop or getting offensive and defensive rebounds. Have also seen cale post up some vs teams when the mismatch is in his favor. Quality ballhandler who sees the floor well and will always make the extra pass.

Jaiden Larson from Kidder County has alot of the same traits as his older brother does, long athletic can shoot/drive/pass and will guard you the length of the floor. Has nice court vision especially when he secures the rebound and takes off, seems to know when to go and when not to and that only comes with playing alot of basketball. Nice looking shot and is a tough and active rebounder on both ends of the floor. Kidder Co had one of the best 8th teams around this season and he was on of the keys to there success.

Brody Hintz also from Kidder County can play spots 1-4 and is built/tough/strong and very aggressive defensively and rebounding wise. If you want a strong screen set hes your guy. Nice athleticism also and gets up and down the floor like a power forward should. Good finisher around the basket with strong hands, once he has the rebound your not taking it away from him. Takes pride on defense and will do all the dirty work.
