Border League: AZ Standouts: Seniors

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>October 14-16 I attended the <strong>Border League</strong> at various gyms in Las Vegas, NV. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Border League is quickly becoming a top preparation weekend of games in the West to the HS season in the fall. The competition is about as good as it gets. There is all levels of play with AIA teams, CAA and Grind Session teams. They challenged themselves versus teams from CA, UT, FL, NM, ID ,TX, TN and of course the host state NV.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>Here were some of the senior standouts:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1638458' first='Arne' last='Osojnik'] Dream City Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A Slovenia sharp shooter is one of he better catch and shoot three point shooters on the team. He has an ultra quick release and it looks good every time. He defends fairly well in space with his size, length and toughness and can drive the lane decently. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='814527' first='Leonard' last='Romayor'] Ironwood</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A true floor general had another good showing. He can hit the deep three point shot and has a quick burst into the lane and will get himself to the free throw line or float it in. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1580113' first='Michael' last='Ejumeta'] Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A thicker post player with an impressive physique. He scores inside with hook shots and is skilled. He is skilled to the three and is a good rebounder in his area. He is a very unselfish teammate. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1434425' first='Timofei' last='Rudofskii'] Dream City Christian (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger shooting forward is a deep three point shooter. He shoots it best off the catch but he can dribble drive and score to the basket. He handles it a little to create and is fluid mover. He can cross his man over and rise up to score it. He has improved since my last viewing over a year ago. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='831119' first='Jason' last='Fontenet Jr'] Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The senior is slowly coming back from his last year injury. He is a three level scorer who can hit the catch three and is best using his body to get inside to score. He can rise up from mid-range to score. His size, quickness and frame allows him to keep his opponents in front of him on defense and makes smart reads with the ball. He is not forcing anything and is definitely letting the game come to in.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='814039' first='Mark' last='Brown Jr'] Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A power guard has real speed with the ball and he is a tenacious on-ball defender. His pull-up from mid-range is his sweet spot. He rebounds at a good clip for a guard with his toughness. He picked a few pockets on the way to the National division championship.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1284844' first='David' last='Tubek'] Dream City Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A thick and strong power forward who shoots it fairly well and rebounds in his area. He can give a hard ball fake and pull-up from mid-range. He is a good passer and plays hard with his college ready build. He verbally committed to <strong>Memphis. </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1638459' first='Gabe' last='Warren'] Dream City Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long on-ball defender harasses his opponents. He can catch and shoot from the three point line and can get downhill using his thicker body, athleticism and body control. He makes his money on the defensive end with his length, size, lateral quickness and bounce.
