Yesterday at 5 For The Fight Hoopfest in Utah was the place to be as the level of basketball was absolutely off the charts. It got started when the #1 team in the state Corner Canyon blasted Bingham as they got off to a hot start and never looked back after going into halftime with a 20 point lead.

The next game on the slate was Wasatch Academy vs. Bishop Walsh and although it was close through the entire game. Wasatch Academy found a way to separate themselves and they ended up winning by a decent margin.

AZ Compass was balling last night as they took out Montverde who has a crazy good roster. AZ was focused and got excellent play from the hometown kid [player_tooltip player_id='1489600' first='Jordan' last='Ross'].

This set up the stage for a highly touted and nationally ranked Sunrise Christian Academy out of Kansas to face off against one of the best teams in the state in American Fork. It appeared that Sunrise was in full control of the game as they had the better athletes the quicker guards and the height advantage. The one thing that did help AF was that they do have some height to matchup and it led to [player_tooltip player_id='934024' first='Aaron' last='Dunne'] having himself a game that opened up things for everyone on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='969235' first='Ashton' last='Wallace'] had himself a big time game and it had some of the out of state scouts asking about his recruitment. Lafayette got themselves a spark plug in Ashton that can shoot the rock. This was also a game that really helped [player_tooltip player_id='1057050' first='Tiger' last='Cuff'] stand out. American Fork ended up getting a late put back that helped them steal a victory that could give them the confidence they need as they continue their tough schedule.

The final game was between two top 5 teams in the state and this game was not overhyped at all. it lived up to the hype by all means. There were two players that surprised us all as it was exciting seeing 6'11 [player_tooltip player_id='969630' first='Bron' last='Roberts'] on the floor again and [player_tooltip player_id='1257172' first='Justus' last='Jackson-Fobbs'] was back on the floor earlier than anticipated. This game turned out to be a battle. Although PG had some advantages in the height department Cyprus found was to keep those guys out in the perimeter most of the game. [player_tooltip player_id='1199505' first='Isaac' last='Garrett'] was great as was [player_tooltip player_id='934022' first='Michael' last='Mitton'] and [player_tooltip player_id='969630' first='Bron' last='Roberts'] looked like a D1 prospect once again. At the end of the game the three-ball was the difference as [player_tooltip player_id='934030' first='Quentin' last='Meza'], [player_tooltip player_id='1057025' first='Diego' last='Mulford'] and company just hit those shots when it mattered and they pulled out the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='934040' first='Max' last='Toombs'] || Corner Canyon ||

Max was just solid and he racked up the points and he is on his way to compete for the scoring champion once again.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489615' first='Collin' last='Murray-Boyles'] || Wasatch Academy ||

Between him cleaning up the glass and being a force on post ups he was just consistent and that looks great for a team like WA looking to make more noise this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489600' first='Jordan' last='Ross'] || AZ Compass ||

Jordan controlled the entire game with his ball handling and creating ability as he is the perfect fit at PG with this team.

[player_tooltip player_id='934024' first='Aaron' last='Dunne'] || American Fork ||

He had some teammates have stellar games but [player_tooltip player_id='934024' first='Aaron' last='Dunne'] hit the three and he was running the offense from the post. Don't sleep on Aaron he has improved so much.

[player_tooltip player_id='934030' first='Quentin' last='Meza'] || Cyprus ||

He is just better than any guard in the Class of 2023 and if he continues this level of play the offers are going to follow him even more.
