Continue ReadingThe lefty was tough to keep in front. Stallard found gaps in the defense and exploited them. He used a smooth floater to finish over top of the defense. He impressed with his vision as well, getting into the paint and finding the open man.

Connolly made a very good first impression on me. At 6-foot-6 he’s a mismatch on the perimeter. He’s a very good three-point shooter, but isn’t one dimensional. He changes speeds well, using subtle bursts to beat his man off the dribble. I think he can grow even more as a creator on the wing. In a small-ball lineup, he’s a perfect stretch forward.

I loved Harrison’s effort. He ran the floor and found easy baskets thanks to his hustle. The combo-forward knocked down a three and was sneaky good as a slasher in spurts.
Highlights
Smith is a steady scorer on the perimeter. He shoots the three and is crafty when finding his way to the rim. Devin is a quality playmaker and an opportunistic defender.
Zeke put his stamp on the camp with his tenacity on the backboards. The long forward runs the floor well and gets on the glass every possession. He showed some upside on offense, scoring on a nice spin move in traffic. Harpe had 14 points and 17 rebounds in Game 1.
The athletic guard showed that you don’t always need to score to standout in camp. While McNeill did find points from both the three-point line and inside the arc, I was most impressed with his floor game. He competed on the glass, was a good decision maker as a passer and was a quality defender. He totaled 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 block in a win. He has tools to work with moving forward.

Alvarez is a solid athlete that can defend multiple spots. He’s got good size and plays hard. Alvarez can make a difference as a rebounder. He can slash through traffic for points.
